Enthusiastic Ron Paul Supporting Teen to Fight Citations

I frequently have my work truck full of stuff in the back or hauling a 16' box trailer. I seldom see out the back window. As a matter of fact I had a 2'x4' sign hanging on the back of my ladder rack last week. Couldn't see sht :)

My view is more obstructed than his...

His view would be more obstructed by having 3 passengers in his backseat.

Anyone thinking he is breaking the law should look up a few words: harassment, freedom, civil disobedience, 1st amendment...

I'd tell that cop to be more worried about Illegal Aliens, Fake ID makers, Prostitution, Robbers, and Rapists.

I'd tell him to find something more becoming of an officer than harrasing drivers for signs in their windows!

Great Story though

He's making the same decisions most silly 18 year olds make. My loud-mouthed self would have done the same stupid stuff at 18.

What he SHOULD do is make his car/truck look like it's sponsored by Ron Paul NASCAR style! Or he could just have the sign shrunk/stretched and put multiple ones in mutliple windows that don't obstruct view.

I saw the Ron Paul Revolution decal of the 18 year old and the policeman who issued the citations would have to be blind to drive that car and claim he can't see any cars driving behind him in the rear mirror.

Go look at the decal and you'll see that it doesn't obstruct anything. Look at the letters and you'll see that behind them is the sky, not the street.

Have you ever seen an RV that you can actually see out the rear window from the driver's seat?

What about a camper shell on a truck?

All he needs is side mirrors that clear the sign so he can see behind him.

It's bullshit because the decal does not obstruct his view. What about the people that have sun shades for their kids? What about limo tint? Hell, what about a cop car. There's a fence in front of the rear window.

What about bumper stickers? Are they distracting to the person behind you?

Please.

The state can make whatever laws they want to for vehicles, because they hold the allodial title for the vehicles. They are the true owners of the vehicles, and you just pay for the privilege of using it. Because they own it, it falls under property rights, and they can make whatever laws they want to for it. This is the reason they can force you to license your vehicle, pay taxes on your vehicle, and get insurance on your vehicle.

This person probably got a warning or a fix-it ticket the first time. The easiest way to fix it would be to replace the current window sticker with one made out of a two-way mirror type material.
