Does anyone know if electronic voting machines are used in Illinois? And if so, which counties/cities/towns?

Also, if Diebold software supported e-voting machines are in use anywhere in the state, can we somehow protest to have them replaced with standard voting machines?

I'd like to have this be a non-issue before February 5th "Super Tuesday".

Two ways: Optical scan system that uses paper ballots or touchscreen that is electronic.

I don't want to see full electronic touchscreen ANYWHERE.

ONLY if the NH recount indicates a problem with Diebold machines, instead of voting, I think a little civil disobedience is in order. Walk in there, rip out the machine and throw it out.

Okay, this is from another thread:
There is a website called http://www.verifiedvoting.org/ that has a map of states that have Voter Verified Paper Record (VVPR) requirements and auditing versus those that do not. Note also that there are other companies besides Diebold (now Premier Election Solutions) that have a large monopoly over voting machines and have sordid records of insecurity, error, and susceptibility to hacking: Sequoia, Hart Intercivic, and ES&S are included in this list. I have not found a site yet that fully covers the processes of counting votes in use by each of the states. However, at least the site above provides some preliminary information to the extent of how trustworthy and verifiable the election can be for some states. Your state of Illinois is listed as having VVPR and manual audit requirements.

I work for on the down low at 1 of the above mentioned e voting companies. I have successfully inserted myself into the den of thieves, and I await their next move. Any harm that comes to the good Dr.'s chances through my scope of duty and I will certainly let the world know. Illinois is 1 of my 22 states. Get ready RP Rev's, form up and march out!

There are counties in IL that DO NOT HAVE PAPER BALLOT BACKUPS FOR A RECOUNT!! Madison County IL is one of them.
