Electronic vapor ciggs?

They ususally die after 6 months. The one I have is a new model, so I only had it 2 months. It works while connected to the usb cable, so I leave it plugged in all the time while im on the computer, and I have a second one as a back up for when I go out.
They seem to get about 150 2-3 second puffs before needing to be charged. But they dont get weaker over the hours, they just shut off when drained. They recharge in 30 min. The new technology in these adds a capacitor that maintains the watts through out the use until discharged. The older batteries used to start out with a decent amount of power then get weaker until drained. These sort of work like a camera flash, they keep the capacitor charged for each button press.

Hours later.. still reading .. found zerocig

seems to be the most cost effective starter kit.. compared to green something or other which is about 130 for a starter kit
Trust me, go with a tank-cartomizer. I have tried every type, and Tanks work the best. They save you money in the long run because they prevent the cartomizer from going dry.
Battery is secondary, but also important. Get a variable voltage battery because each cartomizer is unique and has a different ohms rating. If you happen to get a low ohms cartomizer, and you accidentally put it on a 6 volt you will inhale a cloud of burnt cotton. If you get a high ohms carto and put it on a weak battery you will just flood the coil and get juice in your mouth. Variable voltage lets you tune it in to each cartomizer.

I vape. Yes it works.

Here are some pics of my stash:

I highly recommend doing some research at the ecig forums before deciding on a model that is best for you.

holy crap! no way can that stash be cheaper than real smokes..

Ya, when you get into ecigs it is easy to over spend. Be careful about that. However if your goal is to quit tobacco, I have seen people spend more on drugs and therapy than you could ever spend on cool high tech ecig supplies.

whole new language here for me to learn the vocabulary (goes for the pictures) tank cartomizer.. gotta go look that up now.

.. speaking of juice.. just found out what the drip tip things are.. it SEEMS like these are the way to go.. rather than taking things apart for refilling.. marketing ploy?

Dripping is more for Atomizers, than for Cartomizers.
Atomizers are old school Requires dripping
Cartomizers are less old Requires constant refilling
Atomizer tanks are less old requires constant wicking to keep the wick wet
Cartomizer Tanks are the latest, requires fillups 2 times a day or less, no wicking issues and no dripping required.

I'm not really big on fruity flavors to begin with so picking a ton of *smoke* flavors just doesn't seem to be productive for me.. menthol..and chocolate (because it exists) and maybe coffee .. and hubby would be a tobacco purist. I'm not sure either of us would ever totally quit smoking analog (see.. learning terms) cigs because we both have this healthy disrespect for authority and we really don't want to quit.. but that being said, we don't smoke in the house and winter is coming.. indoor nicotene would make me happy

This is my wife's setup:

She's become a regular evangelist, and has gotten 3 of our friends to quit smoking completely using them. She puts a rig together for them and mixes up the fluid based on their preferences. Seems to be working.

does she have a permit?

I'm looking at those tanks and rigs.. not at all what I was picturing this morning when I started browsing around. They look bulky and heavy compared to a cig. (and why does the fluid resemble bong water?) I guess it ends up being a personal preference kind of thing, right? I'm kind of leaning more toward the two piece - looks like a ciggie products.
I live in a really redneck part of Florida.. I pull one of those kind of rigs out and I'm going to get WAY more attention than I really want.

My friend felt the same way, and he ended up struggling for 2 years with the smaller ecigs that were the same size are real ones. What he found out was in order to equal the amount of throat hit and flavor to satisfy his needs, he had to go with a bigger device.

Here is where everyone gets confused about trying a ecig for the first time. You do not feel nicotine when you smoke a real cigarette. The light headed feeling and relaxation you get from a drag on a cigarette is 100% from carbon dioxided. It is the deprivation of oxygen to your brain that gives you the calming effect and the light headed feeling. The nicotine has zero physical effect on your brain. Nicotine is a addictive chemical that constricts your blood vessels a few min after its introduction to your body.
The desired head rush and mellow feeling from smoking is the part everyone has trouble giving up. You will not get that from ecigs, and it will take you at least 3 days to forget about it. The mental addiction of inhaling and exhaling smoke is the only thing aside from the nicotine the ecig will give you. After 1 week you will forget about the CO2 part of smoking and you will officially be cured. The nicotine side of the addiction is not dangerous. Caffeine is more dangerous than nicotine.

Caffeine and Nicotine.. two of my basic 4 food groups.. chocolate and grease being the other two. :)

as for that desired head rush.. I can just stand up real fast for that, if and when vertigo is something I'm really after.

Yeah.. I spent about $1100 on stuff.. I wanted to try everything.. I go balls in on whatever I'm into at the time..
I was able to recoup some of the damages buy selling my cig style stuff and some juice to my friends when i moved onto boxmods.

Anyways after $800 in juice.. I find that cheap Mint from CigEasy (or anyone else that carries Chinese misc brand Mint) is just fine..
Them custom flavor stuff cost too much, but they are yummy! Still worth it.
Cigs here are $86 a carton. x5 = $430 a month habit.. That $1100 stash of stuff lasted me 2 years!

I went total overboard.. I was making my own juice cutting 100mg unflavored Nic juice with Vg and lorans flavors..
The guy saying you cant get a head rush from nic is prolly vaping 12mg juice..
Vape some 34mg and you will be dizzy like the day you first smoked a cig.

Here is the deal, when you start vaping you are going to end up buying something that looks like a cig, because that is what your used to.
Then you will realize that you don't vape like you smoke. Its not lit, you take a few drags, the nic fit goes away, you put it away..
So at that point you decide you may as well have a boxmod, with a bigger battery, that lasts for a long time.
Then you will get tired of dripping or filling carts..
So you will move onto a bottle box where squeezing the bottle drips onto the atty and full flavor every hit.

I don't know if starting with a box/bottle will work.. You may need that cig like batt for the transition.
Vaping is not like smoking.. Long slow drags work best, even with a cig shaped one.
It is going to seem harsh at first. Took my lungs a few days to get used to inhaling vapor instead of smoke.
In about a week you will be at the point where you would rather vape some yummy juice than smoke a cig.
About 2 weeks in your juice will seem to change flavor.. as your taste buds return from being desensitized from smoking.
That cig flavored juice may become unappealing, and you may find you rather vape coffee or mint or apple.

You want a 2 piece cig style?

This was my starter kit: $40
http://www.cigeasy.com/product_p/kit1.htm

2 batteries, a usb charger, 5 carts in your choice of flavor, and a 10ml bottle of juice in your choice of flavor to refill them carts with.
I went with mint 24MG (I smoked Newport 100's..), Its mint, not menthol. Just like a mint. Not like a menthol cig.

oh cool.. good buy there

as long as I'm asking a crap load of questions.. what's a passthrough battery? There needs to be a glossary/index of all these new terms - illustrated for visual folks like me.

You also asked about gaining weight. I did gain weight. About 30 pounds. I'm a tall skinny guy so it wasn't that big of a deal. I guess that is from stopping smoking more than the vaping.

I used e-cigs to quit, and then was able to drop the e-cigs, so now I'm nicotine free.

In my case, yes, to weight gain.

Battery life can vary depending on brand, "heat" setting and charging cycle. Smaller ni-cad and lithium batteries are more prone to "memory" problems, so try to discharge the battery completely before re-charging.

Do yourself a favor, and only buy US made nicotine juice. God only knows what's in that Chinese made crap, and you are inhaling it right into your lungs after all.

I can't answer any menthol questions for you, sorry, never smoked menthol cigs or e-cigs, so I would have no clue.

I found several that are 100% made in USA.. so the sites say anyway.. not just the juice. That narrows the field considerably for me.
weight gain ahhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHH!
