Electronic vapor ciggs?

I have a bunch of questions.
Has anyone tried them? Do they help with quitting? How's the menthol flavor? If you use them and came off smoking real ciggs.. did you gain weight? Are they really that much cheaper than tobacco?

I've looked at quite a few sites that sell them this morning.. some even made in USA.. does that have any impact on quality? or is it a bunch of horse shit waiting to be bought?

I stopped tobacco the first day and never missed it. I still smoke, but not tobacco. Been using it for 4 years.

I tried them. They are fair simulations of a real smoke. They will satisfy a nicotine craving. The reason I tried them was out of curiosity. Also, the fact that N.C. went non-smoking in any 'public' space. You will not find them as satisfying but if your goal is to quit then perhaps it is a good way. I was able to go a coupla months without smoking the real thing before going back to RYO. You would probably want to add in a workout routine towards this goal.

ok.. the blue light at the end of that rig.. does it have a function or is it there just to use battery life quicker?

It is a battery life indicator. It will begin to flash if the battery needs recharging. At least on the one I used.

ETA: Mine was different from that pictured above.

Robert, does the fluid go in the cartomizer or the tank? Also, does your rig require special batteries and how long do they last between recharges?

I have friends who use this rig, they've not "smoked" in years and say it's even less expensive than my pipe.

I tried it and it'll dose you with nicotine but it's not the same as smoking.
 
I've tried patches, gum, and cold turkey. With e cigs I was able to quit smoking. I am still addicted to nicotine though.

Heard about them from the radio show Free Talk Live. Their e cigs give a really good throat full of vapor which makes it seem more like the real thing.

In my experience most of the brands you see at a gas station don't taste very good or last very long and are pretty cheap.

Older smokers tend to make fun of me but younger people seem to think its kinda cool.
 
The blue light only comes on when you press the button or when it is charging on the usb cable. The LCD screen tells you what voltage you are at (3.0 to 6.0) depending on what you prefer. The high you set the voltage, the hotter it makes the vapor giving a stronger throat hit. The screen also tells you remaining battery life and how many times you pressed the button.

The fluid goes in the tank and feeds the cartomizer through the holes that are drilled in the cartomizers body. This allows the cartomizer to stay wet and not run dry. It make the cartomizer last 3 -4 days.

The e cig forums are good so far.. just reading though. Some of them are PG but some are water based too. There's a whole section on DIY flavors with tips to finding the water based ingredients.
I had no idea there were so many choices and options available.

Give me too many options and, well.. things just don't get decided fast

Robert, how long does the rechargeable battery last, that you recommended, before it has to be replaced altogether?
 
Ive tried all the juices out there, and for me, I gave up on tobacco flavors and stick with sweet flavors like blueberry, orange, coffee etc.
There are lots of suppliers, and the best thing to do is order small bottles from each company until you find the one you like. don't ever take someones opinion on a juice because it is the most subjective part of ecigs
