Bukele’s speech at CPAC will come on Thursday, February 22, ACU and CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp told Breitbart News. It comes after Bukele won reelection with more than 85 percent of the votes cast.
Bukele, in a statement, said he is excited to speak at CPAC and that he plans to focus on his crackdown on crime in El Salvador.
“It’s truly an honor to join CPAC and discuss our commitment to ensuring governments prioritize the fundamental responsibility of citizen safety,” Bukele said. “Without security we cannot have progress.”

I find this to be an interesting topic because what he's done down there flies in the face of any ideas about due process. I'm inclined to see it as a war - not a made up war on terror but a real one where the people have been terrorized and murdered by the most psycho, violent gangs, for years. I think Bukele has locked up about 60,000 of them. Last I read - and I have no way of knowing as I've never been there - life has returned to a semblance of normal where even tourism has returned because it's now safe. It was a brutal crackdown and I'm curious what everyone here thinks about it.
