Egypt leaks information about an American military action against Syria

Jordanian newspaper Al-Arab Al-Youm reported today, through sources that an American message leaked by Egypt to Syria shows that the United States is ready to launch a broad military operation against Syria if it insists on its position on the Lebanese crisis and this is the real reason behind the deployment of “USS Cole” in front of the Syrian - Lebanese waters

The source said that the official announced reason of Condoleezza Rice’s visit to Egypt is to push the Palestinian - Israeli peace process forward but the real reason is to explain the American military actions and the presence of the American ships to the Egyptian leadership.

It is amazing how much money we waste in the name of national security. We spend more money on the military and foriegn aid than the rest of the world and yet many Americans live in constant fear of us being attacked. What is all of this borrowed money buying us?

um can i just tell u all, i dont kno if u all know by now, im from colombia and in the past week colombia went into ecuador and killed the second in command of the FARC...well that pissed off all of venezuela and especially pissed off ecuador....venezuela and ecuador sent thousands of troops and tanks to the colombian border...ecuador is ready to call war on colombia....well the usa is new best buddies with colombia (i guess colombia is set to be the new israel of south america) and bush spoke today stating that he supports and backs whatever colombia decides to do by whatever means necessary...venezuela has ties with russia (who has given them numerous fighter jets and guns etc) cuba vietnam iran syria and china (there are others but those are the ones im thinking of)....bush has been dying to invade venezuela and now with colombia in trouble i can definately see it happening...so guess what people we are in world war....i cant even think of a number because i guess iraq would be wwIII...its just one big world invasion...i kno u all kno this but our countrys officials are a bunch of damn terrorists.....im sick to my stomach

Then, maybe, just maybe people would pull their heads out of their butts and actually see what's going on and get motivated to do something about it, like maybe some 60's style major anti-war protests (minus the violence). Of course, no way, no how do I really want a draft!!!! I don't want ANYONE fighting illegal, unnecessary, useless, pre-emptive wars. I'm sick to death of wars, sabre rattling and rumors of more wars.

I am just contemplating what it will take to wake the American public up to at least attempt to stop this insanity. I have exhausted myself trying to wake people up for years; even more lately with Ron Paul running for prez, but so many people think I'm just an alarmist and that everything's just peachy, even as they wonder aloud why their paycheck is no longer covering the bills.

I guess the msm isn't going to report on this HUGE development either so us being alarmed and upset about it is more fodder for people to call us kooks.

The United States has replaced the destroyer USS Cole, stationed off the coast of Lebanon, with two new warships, military officials say.

The cruiser USS Philippine Sea and the destroyer USS Ross replaced the destroyer USS Cole and a refueling ship over the past day, Reuters quoted US Navy officials as saying on Tuesday.

Another refueling ship remained in place, meaning the United States continued to have three warships in the area, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity.

According to a senior US defense official the warships would maintain a presence off the coast until Lebanon's presidential election.

Earlier, Lebanon's opposition led by Hezbollah said the United States was endangering regional stability by deploying the USS Cole.

US-backed Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, speaking last week, said his government had not asked Washington to send warships.
