The first I heard about this was over one of the cable networks . . .
and a quick search came upon this ominous, tyrannical police state website forum :

http://forums.officer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1562309

Not sure how this really relates to increased industrial productivity and re-tooling into areas such as renewable energy . . .

Oh yeah, your taxes and the economic stimulus can be used to build more prisons - uggh.

Well, if we fill their ranks with freedom loving RP supporters, it could be a good thing! :D

America NEEDS a civil war........

Dare I say that it has become even more apparent to me that
what has been going on was occurring well before Bush43 took office
and that September 11 - while tragic - just became the convenient alibi.

Neither party has a monopoly on lieing through their (smiling) teeth.

Those are some freaky forums!

The founding fathers would agree and say that about "officer.com" as well,
while I'm confident that they would embrace this forum as the true patriots.

Senator Leahy and the Senate Judiciary Committee started the cable networks
reporting and spin about how this is "to make us safer" . . .

http://leahy.senate.gov/press/200901/010809c.html
"Congress and the Clinton administration supported American’s law enforcement officers like never before,
helping to put more than 100,000 new officers on the street.
This support for law enforcement contributed to an historic decline in crime rates."

It is gonna get worse . . .
And we continue to find even more and more evidence of what courts have been up to -
such as passing their own rules and procedures to usurp due process guarantees of the 14th Amendment -
all for post-Reagan era 1990's "innovations" to rape the citizens of the U.S. Constitution.

It will never end.

On the other hand, Portland is cutting its budget by cutting 2 precincts by consolidating them into others:
http://www.oregonlive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/01/portland_police_chief_proposes.html

By reducing 34 command-level police and administrative staff needed to run North and Southeast precincts, Sizer expects to save an estimated $2.8 million. The bureau would lose two commanders, four lieutenants, eight sergeants, four detectives, six neighborhood response team officers and other administrative support positions. Sizer expects to reassign 21 more officers to street patrol.

NY Times today 02.06.2009 mentions this again with picture of Senator Pat Leahy in article titled :
"Stimulus Plan Has $1 Billion To Hire More Local Police".

It does mention that an analyst at the Heritage Foundation disagrees saying that there
was "no evidence that funding for these kinds of programs will stimulate the economy".

More government and police jobs does more to decrease entrepreneurship -
any politician voting for this type of "stimulus" by expansion of the government police state needs to be
voted out of office and go begin work in the private sector -
2010 can't come soon enough.
