Birmingham lawyer Dave Trott has picked up the endorsement of another well-known politician with roots in metro Detroit: former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.In recent months, Romney, who ran for president in the 2012, has been making forays into the political field once more, backing several successful Republican candidates in competitive primaries.
The fact that he’s backing Trott isn’t shocking — the first-time candidate for the 11th Congressional District seat was a member of Romney’s finance team — but it’s another measure of how much political backing Trott is picking up in his race against incumbent U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio.
