Kerry Bentivolio loses primary

Whoopity do. One stupid race. By overwhelming numbers libertarian minded people are being rejected, especially zero compromise libertarians. So next time STFO.

You just got caught talking out of your ass. If you love compromise so much, go join the fucking John Boehner forums. It's obvious that liberty isn't quite right for you.

Don't see a moderator tag behind your name so STFU about what forum I should join..

He's never won a full term primary with an opponent on the ballot. Cassis was a write in for the 2012 general and on the primary ballot for the special.

With 70% of precincts reporting, he held a 65% to 35% lead, according to the Associated Press.

35% write-in, in a primary is a huge number.

I heard him talking up the establishment GOP at an event yesterday. Bentivolio's a well-meaning, likable guy but he's simply not a good representative for the liberty movement. He's apparently going to work with tea party groups starting next year which is probably where he belongs.

Do you have to be so nasty?

Pretty much this. The overall voting of congress moved in the wrong direction with his loss and people are gloating. Amash did extremely poorly for a incumbent congressmen as well. By the vast majority libertarianism is being rejected hard this election cycle and stupid ass libertarians are cheering because generally their own people are getting defeated.

Of course it is getting rejected.

Most people don't want freedom, I don't know how many times I have to say this.

Never have and never will.

If you ever want to carve out a small niche of freedom in this world, it has to be taken, and defended, aggressively.

Nobody has the stomach for that, either.

So, here we sit, laughing with gallows humor, as the world turns into a prison planet.

Bentivolio was extremely flawed as a politician and tactician, but I'd much rather have him in congress than most other dregs we're forced to endure. It's bad he lost, but I'm pretty certain that he only lost because of the candidate that he happens to be. I doubt it had anything to do with his views, or the establishment striking back.

If anything, I'm not being hard enough on the guy
Maybe if you say Eric Cantor lost 435 times you can say libertarians and winning big this election. Didn't know the guy that defeated the old reindeer man was a hardcore libertarian. Whoopee!.

Cantor who served over a decade in the House vs Bentivolio who had 2 years. Your comparison is shit.

By and large, freedom is increasing globally.

Evidence? It is decreasing in the Middle East and North America. It's also decreasing in South America. I don't keep up with news of Asia or Africa to have an educated opinion on freedom on those continents (other then the parts in the Middle East). Freedom has been decreasing in the US for decades.
