Dr. Ron Paul is making People Crazy

The news says that my only real choices for president are: the wife of an old president, a Muslim, a guy who put on the 2002 Olympics, and the most corrupt mayor New York has ever had. All of them are crooks, of course. Can we really expect someone to run for president who isn't a crook? In past elections, our only choice has been which crook we think will steal the most money for our particular cause.

Then I come on MySpace and everyone is talking about Dr. Ron Paul. He's a Congressman who isn't a crook. That confused me at first because I couldn't figure out why someone would want to be president if he weren't a crook. The job doesn't pay well enough to get shot at unless you're taking money under the table. Then I saw a picture of Dr. Paul and realized that he's old, like in his seventies. This guy is a crusader who wants to die for his country! He's going to get rid of all the scams presidents have been saving up for over a century, and he's going to make a lot of crooks in Congress and in the Lobby very angry. I think he knows he could get killed and he's okay with that. If I was old, I would probably like to go out doing something really great for my country too.

The thing is, his supporters are going a little crazy in the head. It's like they have this hope that the government could actually start obeying the law. I'm not talking about the laws that they make up; I mean the real law: the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other Amendments. It would be great if they did because then people could have a little spending money and savings instead of living paycheck to paycheck, but aren't we resigned to our government getting worse and worse until it fails? Isn't it already too late to reverse the trend? Aren't there too many crooks, and isn't there too much debt to save our country? Haven't we gotten used to being victims, waiting for the end to come? Can we really hope to have a government that doesn't rip us off, or are these guys just crazy?

Thanks for posting that. Good to start the day with a smile.

If being involved in this campaign has done nothing else, it has encouraged me that so many people feel exactly the same way I do, and understand and actually give-a-crap-enough-to tear-themselves-away-from-American-Idol.

I am grateful to each and every one of you!

Ah yes, politics as group therapy. I'll bill you by the hour.

Make checks payable to "Ron Paul for President" or pay with credit card here.

OK so first Ron Paul makes us crazy, then his forum provides therapy and bills us for it.

WAY too much like government (create a problem, create a solution that doesn't work, charge too much for said solution...) :D

This was a great way to start my day especially after reading about Edwards using his "non-profit" organization's money to fund his campaign!

Stop right there...does the guy think Barack Hussein Obama is the Muslim? He's not a Muslim, he's a Christian.

Shows ya how people often just assume things...if he meant Obama, that is.

I know I've gone crazy. I hate politics and politicians and I've already donated over $100, in two meetup groups, and spend hours researching and reading about Dr. Paul and the competition.

once or twice before

Remember, it happened once or twice before: at least once from 1776 - 1783.
There might have been another time, but saying that might start another "civil" war! They expected the government to represent them!

The post was not aimed to be factual as much as funny, but yes, there are reports from people in Indonesia that Obama was considered Muslim there then as a child (records at both a Catholic parochial and a public school).

And even if he was Muslim, it's the destructive group mentality again. Keep in mind I detest Obama, his wife too.

Not only that, why is being Muslim some kind of disqualification? Granted, most of America wouldn't go for it, but I'd at least hear the guy out. If a Muslim knew how to fix our broken government and respect separation of church and state, I'd vote for him.

I just wanted to second that Ron Paul's campaign has been a real mental boost for me. Not to get all down on everyone, as there isn't much in the way of personal tidbits posted on here, but my brother died of cancer this February and it was a good awful way to die and really tough on my family. I was having a real rough time as of late. Dr. Paul's candidacy and all the intelligent freedom loving folks have got me off the anti-depressants and living life again.

I'm sure your brother would be glad to see you in this cause for liberty. :)

Austinphish, sorry to hear about your loss. I do think that Dr. Paul's campaign and success since the first debate has really brought a great amount of hope and energy for many. I know this is the case for me.

Well, I never have objected to being called crazy, nor have I ever had proof that I'm not for that matter. However, Dr. Paul's support isn't crazy -- its one of the most sane things to happen in this country's government in years (in my opinion).

The campaign is being called a revolution for a good reason: Dr. Paul is a real leader who is drawing support from people who had given up on hope for America, and trust me, that's ALOT of people. I believe in Ron Paul's vision of a return to government obeying the constitution.
