Doug Wead Blog: "Ron Paul stuns in Arizona, upset win is game changer!"

The 20-30 SEO volunteers Doug asked for should instead be 20-30 bloggers who can send detailed info and synopsis to Doug and the campaign when Jack Hunter is busy or otherwise indisposed. A summary of OK/AZ and official statement would be awesome right about now....

I'd be happy with a simple Facebook update on RP page. Something to feed the masses......

I know there are Oklahomans here who were at the convention yesterday (flybeech, Okie RP fan). Can someone hook up Jake Peters with Doug Wead and have the two talk first? Now I am concerned about Doug going on Maddow or something without the full info and say something incorrect which will be embarassing to us.

Let's not blame Doug. It's easier to blame Collins.

Actually, I appreciate Doug Wead very much. He is the one we usually hear from. It's just a little mind boggling to think that no one in the campaign knew what happened last night. Don't they at least have a lurker here at RPF, the DP or someone local at each convention to keep them updated? I'm just sensing a big disconnect.

Collins is usually the lurker, but he is strangely absent recently. PITCHFORKS AT THE READY, LADIES AND GENTLEMAN!

The campaign is busy playing footsie with the RNC while the grassroots is busting their collective nuts off in every state trying to squeeze out every possible delegate from the GOP's maws.

Meanwhile, the campaign condemns the grassroots who are collecting the delegates because they aren't playing nice with the GOP.

I don't think people should be worked up here about this. It just appears that nobody really knows what's going on in those 2 states. A bunch of things happened in each of those states, and people don't really know what does count, doesn't count, etc etc etc.

I'm a filthy Brit with enough work to consume a sweat shop for a week, and I know what's going on. Pay me, official campaign, I'll keep you up-to-date!

yeah, that's what Wead is saying. In AZ, the person on the stream was hoping to duplicate what they did in OK. Which if they did better in AZ than OK, would make no sense. Maine was easier. We won everything.

Actually...we had a quorum to continue the meeting and elect Karen Johnson as committeeman to RNC since the az gop Chairman Morrissy kept insisting she didnt win even though she did receive the most votes by a high margin . Chairman Morrissy wanted to force us into a mail in ballot re-vote ...and we rejected it over 3 times until he finally decided to break the rules and adjourn without a floor vote!

The grassroots are busting their butts in the trenches. The campaign is too, even if we may not agree with the politicking. Perhaps It is this way for a reason right now. We are making progress and vested in this process. Sometimes we may not understand everything and we may need to go on faith. August is coming up fast and we may be witnessing history in the making. Full speed ahead!

From the comments:

I’m sorry but I’ve long been a supporter, donated as much as I can possibly afford, so please explain to me WHY a Ron Paul campaign person was not at both of these? We throw in tons of money and you guys can’t even show up to these events. Although romney is to blame, you can’t forget to take the blame, Doug, for not being more aware of these things and take steps to solve it. Where is Ron? Why is he not standing up and saying something. Why aren’t you for that matter. We’ve worked to dang hard for you guys not to spend a couple thousand in airplane tickets to make sure SOMEONE was there. You expected people to know what to do, when I bet romney was telling people what to do. See the difference? If you want to win, get your act together, make sure people from the campaign are at EVERY SINGLE STATE CONVENTION, instead of making us figure it out on our own and getting screwed.

Doug Wead just added an Update at the bottom of the blog.

"Update: Friends in Oklahoma insist that the convention which continued on the parking lot outside was indeed legal, had the quorum needed, and resulted in another win for Ron Paul. I hope they are right and we need to support that process legally and follow the challenges involved."

Nice of Mr. Wead to add the short update; however, I can't for the life of me understand how the campaign manager could have penned a blog and published it without having watched the livestream video, or otherwise gotten the 411. Wow.

ALSO, the video he posted of the woman speaking sounded like she was actually trying to bring us into the fold with the "Anyone but Obama" meme. WTF was that????

It's all about conventions now, and the campaign is nowhere to be found.

HELLOOOOOOOO.....ANYONE THERE? HELLO? And can't be bothered to watch the video? Has to find out from comments to a blog the next evening that maybe they don't have the correct information? This is almost as unbelievable as the convention itself!

An entirely appropriate comment. Wtf is the next moneybomb supposed to be funding, again? It's all about conventions now, and the campaign is nowhere to be found.

Great idea for a moneybomb!!! And I bet you weren't even trying....:D

What very much surprises me is that there's confusion, and apparently these conventions sometimes come and go without the official campaigns involvement.

If the campaign has a "delegate strategy", and they certainly have talked about a delegate strategy, I would think they would have at least one person doing this as at least part of what they do. The Ron Paul official campaign should be in contact with 1) "the person on the ground who is in charge" and 2) "they guy who they want to be the convention chair." In Maine 1) was Eric Brakey, and he was official campaign and 2) it was Brent Tweed.

The official campaign should tell person 1) exactly what they want person 1) to do, and to find a person 2). How is it just not being done? I'm not saying they have to pay someone like Eric Brakey to be there (it does get the organizational job done), but someone sitting in the main office should know and give instructions to whoever is there.

Perhaps it's happening and we don't know it?

Paying people like Collins.

There was a post from a member in either Idaho or Wyoming asking why there wasn't any help from the official campaign in their delegate selection. Oklahoma isn't an isolated incident.
