voted. He may not be running, but his idea of bringing back Constitutional govt into the Republican platform sure should be and Palin, Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee, and the neo-cons aint offering it.

For the message. Of course he won't run... but if he consistently gets first on these polls, it'll stir more interest and more hope.

Think, what's better for our cause? People seeing Ron Paul top of the list on every poll, or people seeing Ron Paul down in the bottom or not there at all?

It's about showing that our movement is powerful.

I hope so. I also hope he actually spends time campaigning in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina so he can totally crush the opposition.

I agree though that Congress is much more important than Presidency at this point. And we need to work locally, because until things are changed locally, they won't reflect nationally.

That's why we need to set a strong example through polls like this. It gives us credibility and power.

How amazing would that be. I keep looking (morbid, I know, sorry :() but I can't find any signs of him declining in mental or physical capacity. He is in excellent health for his age.

I'd hope so... he's a doctor, lol.

hey, Ron Paul was in SC before the primary for at least 3 appearances in a week.
but.....
I saw him twice on the same day (on a work day). The first was in a bar/restaurant in Rock Hill where he was in front of a big screen TV that was turned on (distracting). The second was about an hour later about 10 miles down the road. He was in another restaurant and was in the corner with no lights on him (kind of standing in the shadows). Neither place was really "packed", and I had heard about both appearances here on RPF even though I'd donated and live not far from there (so I should have gotten an e-mail or call).

I walked away thinking "geez.. if that's how the campaign was run in Iowa and NH then no wonder he didn't do well there"....

C'mon guys... 179 views on this post already, if everyone who viewed this voted we'd already have Ron Paul in second, approaching Palin.

And that is within an hour... within a day we could double Palin's score. It's all these little things that make the difference.

lol, yeah you'd be surprised how many unhealthy doctors I've seen. :D

I talked to an old friend once who was in his mid 90s and still enjoyed excellent health. He outlived his first wife, but lived with a younger woman (in her 80s) and still did "normal people" things like grocery shopping, choir practice and other social functions.

Once I asked him what his secret was. His answer was to stay physical and keep your mind sharp. He shot 100 baskets a day, walked a mile per day and tended his garden. He also never drank or smoked.

From what I know of Ron it looks like he's on the right track. An old Ron Paul could still take a sharp Palin any day of the week.

It says "Leader", not "candidate", so I voted Ron Paul.

But the GOP doesn't really need a leader. All they need to do is pull that pamphlet out of their pocket, called the Constitution.
