Don't count Ron Paul out of the 2016 race

I don't think there is much doubt in our minds that Ron Paul would come out at the most crucial time to drive support and the liberty movement completely behind Rand bringing out those who sit on the fence but have a hard time prioritizing caucusing for Rand.

I can imagine Ron and Rand doing separate and combined campaign stops in Iowa and New Hampshire. Ron will be pretty important for GOTV whether it be emails, physical mails, robocalls, and stump speeches.

If Rand were polling better in the month before Iowa, it'll be likely that Ron would be less needed but if Rand were in the middle of the pack, Ron would definitely be out there.

Rands already doing several hundred at his college stops, Ron would only amplify the energy.

Ron will not be a candidate, but will play a more active role in the campaign. especially as wars heat up.

Let Ron enjoy his retirement. Rand is his own man and he will find his own way. I suspect the Rand campaign thinks Ron may be detrimental during the primaries, if we were going to see Ron hit the campaign trail it would not be right now.

LOL. For a second there I thought you were about to predict Ron would mount an independent race if/when Rand had to finally bow out. Yeah, I could see Ron making a campaign stop or two. That isn't happening already? Sad if it isn't. Mistake if it isn't.

I doubt they would do this since I think they would be too worried about the media associating Rand with Ron's policies and the newsletters.

The only way that will happen is if Rand and his campaign realize there is no risk since there is no chance of winning. It would be for the purpose of reconstituting Ron's base behind Rand for the senate and beef up support for C4L.

As it stands right now Rand can't do much worse. Things may change closer to Iowa though.

I'm going to write in Ron Paul anyway.

It's too early to count anyone out. Rand Paul isn't a "me-too" candidate, so he stands to gain ground as the empty suits drop out.

Agreed, only as a hail Mary if things go south
