donations?

Steady as she goes, I believe a money bomb is coming on President's Day. In addition, we have a steady flow of money coming in, close to $700,000 in last several days. In addition to the money flowing into his congressional campaign. I think this is pretty good. Of course, more is better, so remember President's Day Money Bomb!

Donate to the RP2008 campaign. He can use that money for the congressional seat if he pulls out of the presidential seat. Don't donate directly to the congressional seat.

they don't seem that low to me. After the 1st month of the last quarter we only had about 2 million. Now we have almost six after 1 month and a week. Hello!! We are way ahead what everyone thinks. Patients people

No, he can't move funds from the presidential campaign to the congressional campaign. Donate to one, or the other, or split you donation between the two campaigns.

After that last email Ron sent the campaign is going to need to make a case why people should since here is how I see it.

1. He has ruled at a 3rd party run therefore no chance for him being President going that route.

2. What would be the point for the Republican race considering there is no chance of brokered convention. Even if there were one Huckabee and McCain still have more delegates.

I highly disagree with you. Ron is in it until the end. And so am I.

Here is your case.

1. We are not defeated, the battle for liberty goes on.

2. We need to keep Dr. Paul out there, pushing the message.

3. We need Dr. Paul at the convention, where things could get very interesting.

"2. What would be the point for the Republican race considering there is no chance of brokered convention. Even if there were one Huckabee and McCain still have more delegates."
... . ahhh.. but there is a chance for a brokered convention, and if there is one would you rather say "oops, I didn't think we'd get here so we dropped support and now instead of having Ron Paul in a good position he doesn't stand a chance" OR "wow! we made it to a brokered convention AND the support for Ron Paul has continued to build" ?

People are just starting to realize how weak a candidate McCain will be in November, and the press is starting to revisit the reasons Huckabee was passed over after his initial time in the limelight (scandal, scandal, corruption, corruption).. the Romney supporters are spending their time tearing all of the candidates down (hi guys! nice of you to join us!) and things are getting interesting.

This is how a lot of RP supporters percieve the situation. I would also like to add that many are demoralized because they percieve campaign to be untrustworthy in some way (incompetant, lazy, don't really want to win, etc.). I'm not saying those things are true, I'm saying that a lot of RP supporters are really feeling that way lately. In politics, perception is everything. That's why a lot of people aren't enthusiastic about donating anymore: they percieve their past donations as a wasted investment, and continued enthusiasm to be self-delusion. Hard words, but I think pretty accurate. Sorry to be Debbie Downer.

I assume the recent bump was snail mail add-ons.

i thought they were quite high a few days ago went from 5300000 after the money bomb to almost 6 mil

Offline donations

The large jump in donations two days ago was from offline donations being rolled in to the total. Offline donations are those that are mailed in to HQ. The last time the offline donations were rolled in was around MLK. So, from that point until two days ago, they brought in around $600K offline. They dumped that balance into the monthly total two days ago. This gives the appearance of a really healthy spike in donations for the day. In reality, the campaign has brought in no more than $30K (online) since the email was released. Today we'll be lucky to hit $7K.

One obvious conclusion is that the email was the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of people. The negative message, the lack of accountability, the fact that it's still sitting on the campaign website. Not good. So some people have decided to not donate.

There are also some donations diverted to the RP congressional run, the racing advert, and who know what else.

A silver lining is that there are still daily new donors hitting the main site; consistently around 45% of the daily donors are new donors. Right now they show 56 new donors for the day, and that's about what they ended up with last night. So, hopefully we've bottomed out and will hold steady or go up. The scaled back presidential campaign will cost less to run now, so the money should go further than it has been.

Good points. This campaign seems to succeed in spite of itself. And that is strictly because the grassroots have been a bunch of broken-glass crawling, fire-breathing freaks for RP. Now, the consistent bungles seem to be catching up to them. Why on earth is that email still up on the website? You get the impression that they really DON'T care if they win or lose. Very strange. I'm the first to admit I've never run a national presidential campaign for a candidate that the establishment wants to vanish in the worst way. But it seems like in that situation you'd want to absolutely minimize any chance of failure and maximize any chance to get a positive presentation. The RP2K8 crowd clearly doesn't submit to that philosophy.

troll thread. that's right i said it.

after the 1st month of the last quarter of fundraising, Ron Paul had only 2 million. After the 1st month of this quarter he has over 5 million (almost 6). Fundraising is way up. All these people saying the campaign is weak, RP supporters are in doubt should realize fundraising is up. Need I remind you 3X military donations than all other candidates combined??

ron paul has made 6,000 today. Fundraising has plummeted. check your facts

People are donating to the congressional campaign, Murray Sabrin and other endorsements from Ron Paul, Ron Paul racing, etc etc.

We're donating, just do a few different things, and some of us are tapped out.
