Donate NOW to boost Ron Paul in the California straw poll!

Well, looks like we'll have to figure out another way to raise the money, because we sure aren't getting anywhere on the forum. I think people may not understand how this works.

I'm with you, as I'm starting a company I barely have any money for RP let alone a straw poll but if you contact [email protected] he can help you out.

We need to win this straw poll PEOPLE!

I had to give You +rep for this. To me, it sounded like: "I barely have any money for my children, let alone..." :)

Any suggestions on how to raise money faster or explain the project better?

It's possible that most people understand it, but that winning this straw poll just isn't a high priority for Ron Paul supporters.

the time window is closing. the phonebanking is the difference
between 3 votes from 1st place insted of 3rd or 4th in GA!!!!
minnesota just had a straw poll where ron paul came in third.
if we can only put in a little effort and time if not money, we
might see California having an upset the way Georgia just did!
our momentum is such with the debate being fresh in the mind,
expect Doctor Ron Paul to be easily third or second in California.

Okay, I'll admit to being a bit confused. Exactly how *does* this work?

Your first post said:

The California RLC has funds earmarked to purchase about 100 more CA GOP convention tickets this Saturday, the day of the straw poll. The robocall described here will be used to attract an additional ~100 Ron Paul supporters to the straw poll.

I estimate that I can get straw poll voters for about $10 each in Los Angeles, so our goal is to raise $1,000.00. This needs to be raised by Thursday afternoon at the latest so that the robocall can be run Thursday night, allowing for a full day of follow-up phonebanking on Friday.

What is the California RLC? (pardon my ignorance - I'm guessing this is the California Liberty Caucus?) Are they buying the extra tickets from the California GOP? Is the money being raised here going to the CRLC?

And as for the robocalling, are these purely random calls, or do you have lists of Ron Paul supporters in the area? If so, why not just post heavily here as well as the Daily Paul, RonPaul.com, etc as well as the LA based Facebook groups?

I'm not trying to be contentious, I'm just genuinely confused. (Happens all the time, just ask my wife!) :)

Maybe running through the details of the plan would be enlightening.

What is the California RLC? (pardon my ignorance - I'm guessing this is the California Republican Liberty Caucus?)

That's right: http://www.rlc.org/about/chapters/CA/

Are they buying the extra tickets from the California GOP?

Yes. The RLCCA has $25k to purchase convention tickets to distribute to Ron Paul supporters as they see fit. The RLCCA's goal is to find Ron Paul supporters and get them to register for the convention at their own expense if they are able, or give them free tickets if they cannot afford registration.

Is the money being raised here going to the CRLC?

It's going to John Dennis' Freedom & Prosperity PAC to pay for robocalls to identify more Ron Paul supporters willing and able to attend the convention. (John Dennis is chairman of the RLCCA.)

The RLCCA and rp2012.org volunteers are already doing all of the above, but they want more Ron Paul supporters to contact.

You can read about how the robocalls worked in Georgia in more detail here: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...calls-to-grow-your-Meetup-and-win-straw-polls

it worked in Georgia. i'll let someone else explain the details.
there was a ticket offer and a quiz with a short concise answer
as a way to screen, and also lists of likely Republican voters
within a certain distance of the straw poll location. the PAC that
is doing part of this is connected up with john dennis. the campaign
proper may pay for the tickets but the donations to the PAC help
with the calling and follow-up, etc. --- it looks complicated but it
did work on a small scale in Georgia where the FISH FRY straw poll
ticket was 15 bucks. people carpooled, people organized in Georgia
around the FISH FRY. mitt romney had only one person manning a
table in Georgia at that there straw poll. do ask WHY herman cain
won by three votes, and do look at where newt was at the end of
the day. each person we can get to the California Straw Poll slows
down the Rick Perry bandwagon. mitt romney spent 42 million to settle
his media war debts from 2008 that his campaign staff ran up. we have
a choise, we can sit back and hope this is doctor ron paul's year or we
can be more proactive and sorta help events along. i think getting our
people involved and working together helped tie the Georgia Straw Poll.

Sounds like it's a good idea, and I hope a few others will step up for this! What say, everyone?? :)

is this actualy important? should I go or is this just a republican fund raiser? I haven't heard anything from the campaign about it.. and I hear about quite a few out of state ones...

It's important enough for the RLC to buy 100 extra tickets that we need people to use. Hence, the robocalls to identify RP supporters and get them to attend the straw poll.
