Donald Trump speaks to shrunken Atlanta crowd as poll numbers drop

The spotlight now fades, as the damage has been done.

The Stupid Party really outdid itself this go around.

Looking forward to 8 years of Hillary now...which was, of course, the point of this whole dog and pony show from day one.

Neutralize any real opposition.

didn't Ron and Rand pose for pics with people 'we' didn't approve of?

My kingdom for an original thought...

Your wish is already granted.

The original thought is, what if a Democrat won the GOP nomination (ensuring a Democratic victory) by saying what Democrats say, but not being PC when he says it.

And the kingdom you pay for that original thought is the last remnants of your personal sovereignty.

Was it worth it?

Yes, but in some, he didn't even know who they were- just fans wanting to get a pic.

Trump & the Clintons have several pics and have been friends a looooong time.

I don't like conspiracy theories.

true enough, however, the 'don' has already explained his tactics as a business man, and the fact he 'plays' the game with regards to politics and business. Seems legit, but people are allowed to change aren't they?...

just keeping it real...

Bribery seems legit?

Going from paying the bribes to taking the bribes is a real change?

If you want to keep it real, keep it really real...

1) How do you know he's not playing his own supporters now?

2) I used to support gun control. I changed. Now you would not ever hear me saying crap like "I'm going to talk to the NRA about using the terror watch list to stop people from buying guns." It's not simply that Trump has "changed." It's that he really hasn't changed.

reality sucks, but i'm fairly certain this 'tactic' has been going on since the Roman Empire..

has Ron Paul ever posed for a pic with Benton?...

Has Ron Paul ever tweeted about bargaining away our 2nd amendment rights?

In 2010 did Ron Paul donate $10,000 to Rahm Emmanuel to be mayor of Chicago?

Has Ron Paul ever called for an assault weapons ban?

Did Ron Paul ever attempt to get the GOP to water down its position on abortion?

nothing in stone, but yeah, his NRA meeting could backfire. Hope the NRA sets him straight.

What does that even mean? Was Benton his opponent in an election? No.

Are you saying Benton was controlled opposition when Paul hired him, and Paul knew it at the time? Interesting theory. I'd love to see you try to prove it. If so, what reflection is it on Trump? Or us, for that matter, since we'd have had no way of knowing...?

This Clinton-Trump thing, on the other hand, is pretty damned overt.

I haven't seen Negotiating Rights Away set anyone or anything right in thirty years.

my point was the fact that Trump posed for a pic with scum....so did Ron....

It sounds like a good cop back cop routine. The NRA "proposal" is that someone on the terror watchlist be barred from buying a gun for some unspecified period of time while the Federal government does an "investigation." And how long is that supposed to take exactly? Oh but this is going to seem like a "reasonable compromise."

Then you are missing the real point. The issue isn't whether or not the Clintons are "scum" but whether or not Trump and the Clintons are on the same side. Benton, scum he may be, is or at least was on the same side as Ron and Rand Paul. Understand now?

Rand never made an "empty gesture" that if acted upon would have been in violation of the 2nd amendment. Nice try. And you're right. It's not a reversal. In 2000 Trump called for a complete assault weapons ban. Trump has always been anti-gun. Glad you realize that now.

It's an empty gesture because it's not going to be acted on, given the gun rights group Trump's aligned with, and GOP controlled Congress. That's the point of it being 'empty'---he gets positioning points for being "open minded" with the gun control media, but the NRA will get the policy. Trump is playing politics using mixed signals, just like Rand did. All clear now?

Well this thread is certainly highlighting the three possibilities.

You can take a hard look at the evidence.

You can look at the evidence and begin by trying to find ways to excuse the evidence away.

You can look at where someone got the evidence, and use that to try to demonize them because you're afraid to look at the evidence itself.

It's clear I forgot the fourth possibility--you can get paid to bury the evidence in a pile of razzle-dazzle bullshit.

not really. I tend to 'distill' things down to reality.
