Donald Trump quadruples Rand Paul’s support among college educated and young voters

Vicious but Truthful.

http://www.mofopolitics.com/2015/08...g-it-among-college-educated-and-young-voters/

There was a moment in 2013 when political realignment seemed, at long last, within our grasp– Rand Paul seemed on the verge of uniting young conservatives and progressives under the banner of classic Jeffersonian liberalism.

But then senior adviser Doug Stafford convinced Paul to implement the most disastrous strategery in modern American history…

First, Rand Paul compared opponents of amnesty to Nazis
Then he became BFFs with Kirsten Gillibrand
Then he became BFFs with Harry Reid
Then he became BFFs with Chuck Schumer
Then he became BFFs with the Chamber of Lobbyists
Then he became BFFs with Mitch McConnell
Then he stabbed Ted Cruz in the back
Then he ditched Steve King
Then he flip-flopped on foreign aid
Then he flip-flopped on Ukraine
Then he flip-flopped on the Civil Rights Act
Then he promised to help Mitch McConnell pass amnesty
Then he became BFFs with Google’s Eric Schmidt
Then he became BFFs with Al Sharpton
Then he started parroting John Edwards “Two Americas” schtick
Then he flip-flopped on drones
Then he blocked an investigation into fraudulent Obamacare subsidies for his staff
Then he wouldn’t give a straight answer on Cliven Bundy

Thus ceding those voters who know instinctively, if not intellectually, that no change can come without challenging the one party system– to the protest candidacy of 69-year-old Donald Trump…

Rand Paul polls at 8% among both voting blocs.

But let me guess:

(1) The poll is skewed
(2) Everything is going according to plan
(3) Snapchat users are underrepresented

and

(4) Just wait until Rand gets 11 minutes to speak at the debates! That’ll turn everything around!

10 minutes of which will be responding to:

"Senator Paul, why did you have an indicted felon running your Super-PAC?"

There's nothing wrong with working with Democrats on issues where we agree. Ron did that all the time. The liberty movement isn't partisan.

Nothing wrong with it as long as you don't adopt democrat parlance along the way. Instead of organically becoming this new kind of republican, Rand's team forced this image to such a degree that it looks outright ridiculous. It comes off phony and insulting.

And precisely 4% of these people polled for Trump would vote for him over Hillary or would even show up on election day.

It seems like the direction that you want Rand to go in would make him appeal to only the very furthest far right wing of the Republican Party and no one else.

Not at all. When issues intersect across the political spectrum, you run with them. But you stay who you are, predominantly the same guy that whooped Grayson and then Conway. Why screw with success? Why the shameless pandering? He destroyed his rep in the process, thanks to pandering and backroom deals. Rand was poised to be a top 2 nominee not too long ago. Even Ron never went in this absurd direction and his campaigns were run poor at times. Rand Paul's major selling point was that he was an outsider that was non-political and uncalculated.

I love to see a man on the street type interview or documentary with some of these so called college supporters. Its going to be hillarious

Reporter: So college student, what Trump policies would you say you agree most with?
Trump supporter: He like, makes me like, feel like I can like trust him.
Reporter: Can you name a policy?
Trump supporter: No policy but he is worth $10 billion dollars which means he knows how to create jobs. So like, he would be good for the economy.
Reporter: So by that standard, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates would be 4x + better on the economy than Trump right?
Trump supporter: Well, I wouldn't vote for Bill or Buffett, I haven't seen them on any TV show. But I have seen Trump on the apprentice show and he like kicks ass.

Its going to be more retarded than the one they did with Obama supporter. These people think with their feels not their heads and their votes count just as much as yours. People should be scared by news like this but to the OP, its a reason to celebrate.

All this Trump support will disappear in a month.

Considering that he actually increased his support after the McCain and Rapist Controversies, I think that's highly doubtful. Those two controversies would have ended the candidacies of mere mortals. For him to fall off the map as rapidly as you presume, he would have to break out a bullwhip on stage and then start whipping Ben Carson to the tune of 'Dixie.' He's probably going to hang around the top as the rest of the field condenses.

It may take a while longer than that, but it will most likely disappear before Iowa. There's far too much Deja Vu here and the kind of support that he has is extremely fickle, and he will mess up, likely by giving some indication that he's not being honest on one of these big issues.

Every election that I can remember people say they are tired of professional politicians, and every election that's exactly what they end up voting for.

a breakdown of Trump's surprising staying power. Not saying he's going to win though, since the establishment nearly always wins the long game.

So: Was Cohn wrong? It was "too early to say," he argued. Trump had proven sturdier than a few recent fringe candidates. Perhaps that had to do with his built-in celebrity; perhaps it was something else.

"If he does shrug off the critics, I would interpret that to mean that he was quickly able to build a relatively strong base of support," Cohn said. "I think that would be really interesting: His poll numbers depict an ideologically diverse coalition, not the sort of coherent base that I would expect to be most resilient."

That might mean that the days of writing off Trump are over. His fate is not predetermined by polls or by prior right-wing insurgencies. The press may actually have to cover a campaign.

Ideologically diverse coalition. In other words, a tabula rasa for voters of different stripes. Trump means different things to different people, which may prove to be an asset as the GOP prepares it's assault.

Yep, that's about how it would go. Just like the real man on the street interviews with Hillary supporters. They can't name a single accomplishment of hers..... but she sure is awesome anyway!

Trump's support will only disappear if he has a major screw up , health issues or scandal. Trump will not run out of money, and the other candidates will find fund raising increasingly hard. if Trump hits 30% in the polls he could lock up the nomination. this race is starting to sound very similar to the Graham re-election primary last year. he had a massive lead, and the others just fell apart.

lol can't believe anybody would repost shit from mofo politics here...

Same drivel as from salon, dailybeast, think progress.

Mofopolitics unlike the dailybeast or think progress something writes good pieces about the Paul's as an attack on the republican party. I guess they now see Trump as more damaging to the republican party than the Paul's so they will promote the heck out of him now.

Next headline, would be "Degenerate, intellectually disabled, transgender, other kin, geriatric, minority now says he would thrown his/her/it support for Trump". And I bet you this OP will get so turned on by it that he would post it on this forum. Any news is good news for Trump and bad news for Rand.

What she said:

It would be interesting to know who leaked the story. And I guess it's true, because The Donald does not deny it.

The Trumpettes at the various conservative sites don't care. He could be caught in bed with Hillary and it wouldn't matter.
