Donald Trump has a teeny, tiny base

I don't know I guess I am wrong on this. So I guess I have to qualify it to being openly racist/sexist. I guess you can be a psychopath and smart and be a democrat. Or psychopath and smart and a republican. But there is very little value for republicans to peddle racism. They peddle fear mongering that the hordes are coming over the border. I can't say they are wrong at the moment.

I agree with you now that you word it that way. The reason openly peddling racism doesn't work for a political party is because appealing to a narrow demographic isn't going to get you elected. People who openly sell racism like Don Black or David Duke are serving a tiny market, and make their money because there isn't a lot of competition for racist services.

However, I do think that the republican party as a whole sells racism which is barely disguised at best. Just as one example, when they decry welfare, they don't talk about the poor rural whites who receive the majority of welfare benefits. Instead, it's "inner city" welfare recipients and "immigrant" welfare recipients, both of which are thinly disguised references to the race of the person involved. For some reason the immigrant references are targeted at hispanics despite the fact that majority of both legal and illegal immigrants are not hispanic.

Both parties have a fair amount of "all of your problems are the fault of THOSE people over there" going on. It's easier to convince people that others are the cause of everything wrong in the world when there are differences between the two... race, religion, class, location, whatever. Preying on that is, I think, the #1 problem with politics in this country.

I can't give you anymore +1s.

One thing I would like to add is that I don't think any of this will change with Trump. And he is probably better at doing this then those who are competing with him.

However I don't think he is a psychopath. And I think he does want to represent US interests.

By every OP metric, Trump is 7 times more popular than Ron Paul.

Ron Paul 10%. Trump 37%. Twice the turnout. 7.5 times more popular.

Sexists can't get rich? Neither can racists? He may or may not be either but he has certainly played both cards in the election. Ban the Muslims. Kick the Mexicans out (they are all drug dealers, criminals, and rapists anyways according to him). Build a wall (and have the Mexicans pay for it). Women should be arrested if they get an abortion (backed off that).

Actually, it was kick the ILLEGAL ALIENS out. And about the Muslims, Rand was after the same thing, albeit more politically-correct, when he wanted to stop immigration/refugees from countries who hate the U.S.

Women should be arrested if they get an abortion (backed off that).
He was right the first time. Women are the sex who have babies. Is this news to you, Zippy? If they wantonly murder their unborn children, they should be held accountable.

So...the people who got rich off of the trans Atlantic slave trade weren't rich because they actually didn't have high IQs? Serious or trolling?

Trumps "achievements" aren't that great based on the millions his daddy started him off with and what he could have made simply putting the money in an index fund. Plus he got bailed out multiple times.
I don't think that is correct. My understanding is that his father gave him ONE million.

And lastly, Kanye West has achieved a lot while he isn't as rich as Trump he still fits the working definition of rich. I don't put much stock in his IQ but hey, what do I know? Tesla had a higher IQ than Edison but Edison died super rich and Tesla died penniless.

So if Trump was for making all practicing Jews leave America would you be okay with that? And banning Muslims is a stupid and counter productive way to fight terrorism. We're going to ban the Afghan who saved the life of a U.S. Navy SEAL because he's Muslim? If congress gives the congressional medal of freedom to the Jordanian pilot who was burned alive his family can't come to receive it on his behalf because they are Muslim? Trump used Jimmy Carter's supposed banning of Iranians as precedence, but that isn't what happened. Carter gave extra scrutiny to the student visas of college aged Iranian men and deported those that were in violation. If Trump proposed something like that I could support it. And for "deporting Mexicans", he said he's going to bring the "good ones" (most of them) back rapidly through a big beautiful whole he's going to build that they are going to pay for it. Maybe that's how he can convince them to pay for it by pointing out that it isn't going to accomplish what he's leading people to believe it will accomplish?

Rand advocated stopping all immigration from countries who hate the U.S.. Trump wasn't as politically-correct.

[h=1]Fact Check: Rand Paul is NOT in Favor of Restricting Muslim Immigration[/h]
Said Paul: “I’m very concerned about immigration to this country from countries that have hotbeds of jihadism and hotbeds of this Islamism. There was a program in place that Bush had put in place—it stood for entry-exit program from about 25 different countries with a lot of Islamic radicals, frankly. I think there does need to be heightened scrutiny.”
Paul went on to reiterate, “I’m for increasing scrutiny on people who come on student visas from the 25 countries that have significant jihadism.”
In other words, Paul is not in favor of “restricting” immigration from “Muslim countries”; he is in favor of heightening the level of scrutiny involved with those countries which have significant levels of Islamic radicalism.
Even the use of the term “restrict” is questionable, as Paul does not seem intent upon creating some quota of entrants or in any other way preventing immigration in a blanket manner. He only wishes to be extra cautious so that the country does not inadvertently allow immigrants with connections to jihadism across the border without some kind of further inspection.

HOUSTON, Texas — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)94%
, a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview here that he wants to restrict immigration from predominantly Muslim countries after the Chattanooga, Tennessee, terrorist attack.

Paul said in an interview backstage at a rally his presidential campaign is holding inside the Hyatt Regency here in downtown Houston:

I’m very concerned about immigration to this country from countries that have hotbeds of jihadism and hotbeds of this Islamism. There was a program in place that Bush had put in place—it stood for entry-exit program from about 25 different countries with a lot of Islamic radicals, frankly. I think there does need to be heightened scrutiny. Nobody has a right to come to America, so this isn’t something that we can say ‘oh their rights are being violated.’ It’s a privilege to come to America and we need to thoroughly screen those who are coming.

Republican Rand Paul to offer bill to halt U.S. visas for refugees
Monday, November 16, 2015 2:04 p.m. CST
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Rand Paul said on Monday he would introduce a bill to put an immediate moratorium on U.S. visas for refugees fleeing extremist groups.

Paul, speaking after attacks in Paris last week linked to Islamic State militants, said he would halt visas for people from about 30 countries with major jihadist activity and impose a waiting period for people coming from countries that have visa waiver agreements with the United States.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don't think Rand is politically correct, I don't think Rand Paul is a liar, I think he wants a moratorium, not a ban. Plus Donald inherited his fortune, he is old money.

You have it backwards. This is Ron Paul Forums. Denigrating tyrants like Donald Trump is part of our mission.

Caped Crusader? So, the rest of the field is okey dokey, but gotta stay vigilant dogging that tyrant Trump...

How do you spell guttural exhale?

Trump literally has 100 times as much as his father.

His father left 50 million split four ways when he died in the late 90s after Trump made most of his fortune.

Trump has more then 5 billion, that is one hundred times as much, which he earned through his own good sense and sweat.

You think Trump would be dating the most beautiful women in the world, becoming the most powerful man in the world, if he was an obscure hedge fund manager with 8 billion compared to the hard assets guy he is now?

What? No one mentioned the word "liar" with Rand Paul, besides you.

How did he split his money four ways?? When Trump took over his dads business and inherited it before he died when it was worth 200 million and they did not liquidate the business?
