Of all the sins of the US Government -- and they are truly oceanic in scale, beyond all human accounting, piled up to heaven in their enormity -- I consider the 1933 FDR gold-heist to be in a tossup for the single most wicked act ever committed. It's tossed-up with Waco and Ruby Ridge, and possibly 9/11 if that was CIA-staged or LIHOP'd.

With 20/20 hindsight, we can see that the many innocents who died in Hiroshima/Nagasaki did not need to be murdered to bring an end to the war. Japan was already tottering on its last leg. But one can argue that was not obvious in the heat of the moment and that the planners and President simply took the "better safe than sorry" option and let the Japs have it. OK. Even though, objectively, this was clearly one of the most heinous acts of the US Government in its history, it's still a superficially reasonable counterpoint. But there is no counterpoint at all, whatsoever, to the 1933 gold heist. It was straight-up the single biggest heist ever, in human history. Untold wealth of the American middle- and upper-middle class was wiped out overnight, and transferred into the private coffers of FDR and his bankster buddies. Doesn't matter if the gold was originally stored in custody of the US government, whoever had control over it was in a position to leverage it to oblivion and then use that leverage to effectively transfer it (and/or the equivalent wealth in other forms) onto their private balance-sheets, which is surely what happened to it. Literal highway robbery, committed in open daylight, while nobody blinked an eyelash.

A lot of conservatives like to rail on homosexuality as an abomination. Welp, it's listed right in line with other abominations like thievery, greed and extortion by the Apostle Paul here.... so....
