Surely they would edit stuff like that out if they were going to release it to the public. Not that I think curiosity isn't really on Mars, but if it wasn't they would be a little more careful about what gets published.

i see a couple of light artifacts. could that be sun glare off of shiny parts of the rover?
the spot tracks the sky like the sun. what is the time lapse?
