Does America deserve Ron Paul?

If Ron Paul does not get the nomination, I will vote Democrat in the general.

I've never voted Democrat in my life, but my purpose will be to weaken the Republican party, as I do not want to be part of the source of problem of them continuing on this current course of action.

If the Republicans lose enough seats in the House & Senate, and lose enough voters, they will have to switch platforms. They will see that catering to the neo-cons is not where it's at.

If you vote dem to teach the republicans a lesson they will just think they need to be more liberal.

Do we deserve Ron Paul?

Not if we're willing to give up if he doesn't win.

This is simply the beginning, the early stages of the second American Revolution.

The first one had a lot of setbacks, but they refused to give up. Only if we refuse to quit do we deserve a country like the one Ron Paul is trying to restore.

We patriots deserve Ron Paul, but nost apathetic Americans dont. I think a large portion of the American people care more about who wins the Super Bowl, than who the next president is.

I'd move there but i'm anchored in Texas by my family and Girlfriend. Who would never move with me up there... she hates the cold. Might have to do a freestate project for Texas... re-declare our independence.

There's already a movement underway... Google and you shall find. I think it's something like Texas Republic. It's a secessionist movement of sorts.

Folks, RP is not the second coming. These things take time, and we need to learn from our mistakes move on from here and keep going in the right direction. My concern though is that the RP grassroots is a little heavy in single issue folks that won't be around in 2012 to support the next old-school conservative candidate.

That was true in 1776 as well. Read your history and you'll find the Revolution occurred because a relatively small group of patriots worked hard to inflame the populace.

Sound familiar? ;):D

My vote is for Ron Paul.
My protest vote will be a write-in for Ron Paul.

We are in a dire economic situation that is unlike the 1980 Carter issue.
Oil is at $90 a barrel and no other candidate wants to do anything about it.
Alternative fuels are 5 years away at best with the gumption of the the space race a generation ago.
The Democrats want to tax more and create more government at a cost we can't afford.
The copycat Republicans want to keep the status quo.

NAFTA is a failure and our manufacturing is mostly overseas.

Our country is practically on bad credit due to over extendedness, our ARM is up for a rate change and it will happen next year. We literally cannot afford to lose this election.
No other candidate is willing to cut (I think maybe Romney would if faced with the problem, Guiliani's solution doesn't make sense) government spending.

Yeah I tried that the last go-around with Bush. I'm still there (here), but it's not that great. I'd recommend it over the States any day - but I'm moving off to Asia in the near future.

I will not move away! We must fix America!

If there's a problem with this country, you just don't run away from it. You try to fix it. If Paul loses then it is up to us to continue his message whether it's through running for office or spreading the message of liberty to your friends.

So Thomas Jefferson, et. al. should have just stayed in England and taken it from King George?

Sadly, we are assuming that there will be an election in 2008... and that Bush will restrain him self from using one of the many directives that give him dictatorial powers. If there was ever an event to cause a 2nd civil war... that would be it.

Evil, this is exactly what I have been worrying about . . .
