Do You Trust Trump to Reform Taxes?

Problem is the GOP Congressional leadership, which wants only "revenue neutral" cuts that simply shift the tax burden from corporations on to the middle class.

I don't view that as a problem. For almost a hundred years we've been shifting the tax burden from the poor to the rich (socialism). Morally and economically we need to go the other way and have a flat tax system, either sales or income. Laws should be applied the same for everyone. There's a reason progressive taxation is the second plank of the communist manifesto.

The problem is when you try to undo past socialism you get blamed for "giveaways for the rich".

That being said the real solution is to drastically cut spending.

Trump would probably sign anything passed through Congress and declare victory. Thus, this is a question of trusting Congress.

I trust Rand, Massie, Amash, Brat and several others could come up with something better than what we have today, but not the bought and paid for Congress as a whole.

We'll get some crony insider plan.
Thats right.

Complaints are that corporate rates are too high yet corporations have so many deductions that many corporations actually pay little to no taxes.

Yes, I guess it's "little" when you're the person not paying it.

You also can't tax an abstract entity like a corporation. You're ultimately taxing people. There was a time in this country when the corporate tax was not enshrined in code. Why do you progressives want to tax people twice?

After deductions, the US rate drops considerably. Many pay less than 20% and some even zero.

I trust Rand Paul to fight for tax reform. His message to Trump:

If tax reform is run like most things around here -- like Obamacare repeal, ... it will be complicated, won't help much and could even fail. ... I urge President Trump and his advisers to heed this warning. Do not let what happened during the last battle up here happen again. You'll get the same results, and no one should want that.
