Do you think the Kucinich remark at the end of Jay Leno turned off some independents / Republicans?

I Like Kucinich, but I know some view him to be pretty out there...

Thoughts?

I know a lot of people are really hard core about their party, good or bad. I worry that for a die-hard Republican they might have seen this as an traitorous act.

it will get a lot of the kucinich voters who are disenfranchised, and lot of moderate independants looking for a bipartisan candidate

who else is he gonna say? lie and say Obama?...the fact of the matter is, ron and dennis have more commonalities with each other than people in his own party and they both kickass!

ron paul dug a hole there... it turns me off.

Just stick to the fact that he is the only ANTI-WAR, CONSERVATIVE.... free market constitutionlist... that should be the main message...

pro-life
pro 2nd amendment
pro free markets
pro civil liberites
pro strong borders
anti welfare
anti oversees military spending

kucinich is

pro welfare state.
pro gov spending
pro choice
pro gun controls

As usual Ron answered the question honestly and he gave the answer I expected.

Unfortunately there is not much difference between the Republicans and Democrats any more when it comes to fiscal integrity.

At this point I would vote for Kucinich if Ron Paul was not running - at least he is hitting the buttons on foreign policy.

Kucinich is also:

pro- civil liberties
anti-death penalty
Anti- NAFTA, WTO
against the war on drugs
against the Patriot Act
and the only other "truley" Anti-War candidate

and are both blatantly censored and labeled as "kooks" by the MSM.

the door swings both ways.

I think Ron made it pretty clear he agrees with Kucinich's stand on foreign policy only. This will hurt him among Republicans who think Kucinich is 100% wacko. But, I think it helps him get Democratic votes from people who like Kucinich but think he has less chance of winning than Ron Paul. I think these effects may be a wash so I voted "no effect."

Had to help a little...but probably not much.

DK is the RP on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately he wasnt' able to catch on like RP.

Any mention of DK on national TV can't hurt.

Independants can...but seriously any negative or positive effects of outcome will be totally insignificant anyways.

x2

I disagree with Kusinich on most issues domestically (size of gov't & gun control mostly)... but I respect him because he is a straight shooter. If you ask him a question, he tells you what he really thinks. That is where he has the most in common with RP. He isn't afraid to boldly say an unpopular position without sugar coating or pandering.

Shame on you people. Respect Dr. Paul for always telling the truth...if that is his opinion, then so be it....That is why I respect him so much - he simply tells the truth - remember how that used to be?

Kucinich is a diehard socialist! He wants to nationalize your pants!

That said, at least he's honest about it, unlike most other democrats. And him standing up to the military-industrial complex is also commendable. Maybe he'd make a good mayor of a small socialist-minded town in Vermont... But Ron Paul should keep his distance from him.

I'm sure he just meant "I don't like ANY of the democrats, but at least Dennis is being honest so if I have to pick one let it be him".

WHat do you guys want him to do, endorse the opposition?
Support somebody that'll provide problems for us in the future?
Maybe his statement will spark interest on the dem side, and take the MSM's influence away on that side too.

You never know... Dr. Paul is a VERY smart guy...don't second guess him!

He answered HONESTLY.

If honesty is a negative, then that is where I want to be.

He was asked if forced to choose one of the Democrats he liked the most - who would it be. He said Kuchinich is with him on foreign policy but they disagree over domestic policy and the role of the federal government. And he added that it is good to have allies on the other side of the aisle on issues.

That my friends is the TRUTH!

I would cringe if he aligned himself with any of those other "In Iraq until 2013" Democrats!
