I hadn't seen an "official" poll on this, so without any bias on my part I will simply ask the question, do you still support Rand Paul in light of recent events?

Yes I do. During the past few days he has introduced a bill to curb the drones, joined with a democrat in sponsoring a bill to legalize hemp. Also, months ago he said he would support the eventual nominee, but was working to make his father that nominee. What did we want him to do break his word? Also, all that he did was talk about it shortly in one interview. If we hadn't of blown up and spread it everywhere, most wouldn't of even heard about it!

He almost single-handedly forced the Patriot Act to expire!

Agreed. +rep

Not at the moment, but I won't completely disown him yet either. I'm waiting to see if he's going to do something brilliant with all of the cache he's built up with the neocons. There's still time for him to redeem himself, if he wants to.

Rand Paul still has my full support. Watch his votes. Not his words. If he starts voting yes on things like NDAA, SOPA, PATRIOT ACT, etc then it's time to withdraw support.

So about 15% of opposition. Rand is fine then, and we are not even talking into account that the anger will subside.

Good old argumentum ad populum? It's a poll, not a way to decide whether he actually is good for this movement. All this shows is the mob's overall opinion like any democratic action, it doesn't prove any logical validity.

If Romney wins in 2012 you guys can kiss running a Presidential candidate in 2016 goodbye. We'll wait until 2020 or 2024 to get that all important veto power to force 2/3 majorities in Congress to pass unConstitutional laws. IF Romney wins, you can place some of that blame on Rand...afterall, some morons will vote for Romney because of this horrid endorsement.

Besides, the guy voted for sanctions on Iran; an unConstitutional act. No war was delcared, and since sanctions are an act of war, the vote was unConstitutional. Adding an Amendment to the Bill that basically said 'this act of war is in no way to be construed as an act of war' didn't make the sanctions NOT an act of war.

You shouldn't require more than that. Cults of personality are so disturbing, but never moreso than among libertarians.
