I'm torn. I'm also a woman, and I'm tired of driving old cars. I can work on them somewhat, but getting under them isn't as easy as it used to be. In short, I'm getting old. I'd really like to have the reliability of a newer car, but the global tracking bull puts me off of them. Sigh.
To me it's rather simple, if you've got the money to afford new or even newer, then you've got the money for restored.
Some modern conveniences such as fuel injection and electronic ignition are available from aftermarket vendors for all popular engines, disc brake conversion kits for old vehicles as well as rack and pinion steering are too...
The local upholstery shop can provide a personalized interior that'll rival any limo on the road..
Give some thought as to what you're actually looking for in a new[er] vehicle, often there are other options..
