Did you become a RP supporter after seeing the blimp flying overhead?

Ok, I'm not a blimp hater so don't flame me. I thought we could put this issue to rest since their is a lot of debate about the effectiveness vs. expense of the blimp. This is a bit of impromptu market research.

The blimp has been in the air for several days and a lot (presumably) of people have seen it at this point. Statistically, a percentage of the people who have seen it are also on these forums.

So the question is: are you a Ron Paul supporter because you saw the blimp flying overhead?

If so, please post where and when you saw it and your reaction upon seeing it.

Thats doubful, have you looked at where the blimp has gone? It hasnt spent any time in any major cities yet, seems like its just flying in circles.

Yea it spends about 20 minutes in them before turning around. Like I said not much time.

Sunny skies over Baltimore, Philadelphia, and northern New Jersey tomorrow...hopefully; the blimp crew will take advantage of that.

Good try David but the blimp is all about Ron Paul name recognition. You have to admit, thousands of folks are seeing his name emblazoned on the side of that blimp when it flys over them and are asking questions. The television coverage is also getting Ron Paul's name out into the general public. Soon it will no longer be Ron Paul who? When that happens, mission accomplished!

Yes, but wouldn't it be reasonable to expect that at least some of those new supporters would have made it to this forum by now?

I don't disagree with you - name recognition is important. Ultimately, that recognition needs to turn unto support for the blimp to be judged successful. I wanted to do some research to see if that is happening yet.

hey, I obviously was a ron paul supporter before I saw the blimp, but I just watched the blimp land at a really tiny airport in Churchville Maryland along with three people who parked at the airport and walked in because they saw it fly over their houses and were curious.

One lady said she called 911 at first because she had no idea what it was, then saw that it said Ron Paul and so she drove over, even though she wasn't necessarily a Ron Paul fan.

Two guys hanging out at the airport also had no idea who ron paul was, but were taking pictures on their cell phones and said they'd google him.

Just saying that at least in a small way, it's gaining attention.

p.s. It was totally awesome to see :)

Called 911? Going to be some interesting things written in the local police news blotters.

Yeah, that police blotter should be great!

Just curious, what time are people planning on being at the airport tomorrow morning? (sorry to go off topic for a second)

I'd say contact everyone that has read an article about the blimp, print, radio and tv and once we can poll everyone that viewed the blimp, then we can get solid answers, theres a huge unknown, but it truly is amazing and has garnered tons of attention, the blimp has paid for it self before it ever left the ground, now its flying for pennies ,everytime any coverage happens on the blimp,if you were to try to buy the coverage then we would need about 5-10 million if not more.. THE BLIMP RULZ and its paying for itself and more....
