Did Ron Paul vote for the Patriot Act?


I could have sworn he did once, was that the only time? Well, I'll quit saying it until I double check it. I did like that about Feingold until I thought I saw a prior unanimous consent on it while he was there.

When it originally passed in the wake of 9/11 it was a 434-1 vote in the house. Ron was the only elected official who kept his head and didn't cave in to all the false appeals to patriotism.

Not quite. It was actually 357 - 66, but he was one of only 3 Republicans to vote against it. The other two were Butch Otter of Idaho and Bob Ney of Ohio.

It was the Senate where only one person voted no, and that was Feingold.
