Dick's customer service

After buying a gun from Academy today I decided to send an email to Dick's customer service. I doubt I'll get a response but I want them to know they had lost a customer. I had to edit it down a lot since I kept going on long tirades. I figured I'd share it here in case anyone else wanted to do the same:

"I wanted to say I am glad Dick's has the conviction to stand by its beliefs and suspend the sale of certain firearms in their stores. Which is why I think Dick's can appreciate my conviction to not sponsor their business ever again.

My conviction goes so far that I will do my best to encourage every hiker/kayaker/outdoorsman I know to avoid your store at all cost. Since Dick's just opened a store here in Hattiesburg MS it does not have a thriving business yet. Eventually the store may take off, but not with a dime from me.

I do admire a sporting goods store making a stand on principle and the idea of respect for the school shooting tragedy, unfortunately I disagree with the idea that being a fair weather 2 amendment company shows respect for anyone. If you wanted to show respect, closing all your stores for a day or more of mourning would have been the way to show it."

Screw them. Better off at the Mom & Pop shops anyway.

The bog box stores used to be cheaper, but that changing. And if they want to NOT sell merchandise, thats just better for the small retailers who know better than to mix business with politics.

Damn. I just purchased 40 rounds of .556 from them.

Do you have any doubt that no sooner than your card number was entered your name and address was included in the list of those who purchase rounds used in "assault type" weapons?

I didn't think about that at the time, but you're probably correct. If there are lists, I'm probably on them already. Fuck 'em.

I agree with "fuck-em"!

But I'd seriously hope folks will think before purchasing items that legislators are looking at..

Use cash and nothing else!

Most sellers prefer to declare their profit margin for taxation after careful deliberation and digital purchases don't grant them that freedom...

Besides the ass you protect might very well be one of your own family...

Not a fan of Dick's. They are wayyyy over priced. I will gladly support a local gun shop, or Academy (they generally have low prices, and I've never had an issue there) over Dick's or even Wal-Mart (their ammunition is dirt cheap compared to some places). But, I heard Wal-Mart is going to end the sale of guns and ammunition?

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to tod evans again.

The problem I see, after thinking about it, is that the bog boxes will start lobbying against allowing smaller shops to sell things they don't want to sell.
