Depressed GOP Chose Romney

I think I have actual feelings of depression when I think about Romney being the Republican nominee for President. It just baffles me how such a great, smart and honest man ran for President and money and the media gave it to someone undeserving. I live in NY and we got hit pretty hard by Hurricane Sandy, Romney is on record saying he would prefer to scrap FEMA and let the states handle this issue themselves. I have no problem with that stance, but Romney was asked 11 times by reporters about this (Youtube link below), and he's so scared to lose votes that he flat out ignores the question.

Ron Paul will be 80 years old when the next election rolls around, he's in great shape and health and I hope it stays that way forever. While I'm sure we all hope he runs again, do you think he actually will? Ron Paul would never be scared of questions or reporters. Also, on a side note...I live in New York, can I write in Ron Paul and have it counted? Sorry for a bit of a rant, just really disappointed with the choices in front of me this year.

You can write him in but I am not certain if it will be counted, some people were saying in the city a group was going to do it, and one blog owner there said he'd take his county and count them, and essentially wanted to get people to take counties and count them. If it isn't counted to Ron it is counted to the 'none of the above' general number though, which for me would have been the second most accurate vote. I wrote Ron Paul in here in CA before I knew it would be counted, but it will be.

I am sorry I can't be more certain about it for NY.

As for Ron running in 2016, I would certainly support him, but I'm not counting on it happening.

The ugly truth of the matter is that the American people have no time nor patience for smart and honest men.

The PEOPLE still want freedom, liberty and truth, but the special interests that control the political and media establishment want control, tyranny and lies. That power elite has cut us off at the pass by shoving Obama, Romney and McCain down our throats, and sought to systematically marginalize Ron Paul across two election cycles. They have structured the election system so that only Democratic and Republican candidates have a realistic shot of winning, and only non-transparent, unaccountable entities run the debates, or count the votes. That is what is causing the depression, Mitt is just the current symptom.

We put out a call to some major groups in NYS to become electors so we could put forth the effort for write in validation. We received no responses and therefore did not move forward.

Write ins in NYS will not be counted per NYBOE. They were not counted in Erie county in 2008. I had called them and that is what they said, 'we don't count them in.'

Ostrowksi in Erie has stated he will count them in Erie county. There was no coordinated effort in NYS to do this, meaning there was no effort to publicize a RP write in.

We in NYS, do not have it together as a unit.

I couldn't write in Ron Paul (not certified here) when I went and early voted in Indiana, I was worried they would invalidate the rest of my ballot if I did. So I had a choice to vote Gary or simply skip that part of my ballot...it was a hard choice. I was very happy I got to vote for libertarians in other races though! I skipped governor though, cause I think Rupert Boneham is a socialist in disguise and the other 2 are statists. If you can write in RP though DO IT!

So the OP could go in and count them in his county, or go in with people from a meetup to do it....?

Every locality I have checked they only count it as 'undervote' the general none of the above section. There are a few states that allow NO write ins (OK, I think?) and there you might have to leave it blank because there is physically no way to do a write in, but that is only in two or three states, I think.

But some people have other reasons for wanting to vote LP if they can't write Ron in, and they should do what feels right to them. Everyone should vote their conscience, always, imho.

When I think about Paul being the nominee, we wouldn't have this crisis of numbers. Romney's going to have a hard time to pull this through. However, I do believe we'll have gains in Congress.

I'm excited for Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz-R. A republican tea party educated and well-spoken Hispanic. I bet the dems will roll over when he wins the open Senate seat in Texas.

Yea, how is that tea-party "racism"? /sarcasm.
