Department of Homeland Security orders up to 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition

Well, then it's a good thing that I use .45 and 10mm then ;) They just drove up the price of .40....

That is one third as much small arms ammunition as the Army usually buys in a year. Which tells you how much DHS is buying or how little the Army buys.

What we need to find out are the purchase trends of .40 ammo in years past. Is the 450 million rounds a HUGE spike?

I'd be more concerned with a huge spike in 5.56mm or 7.62mm ammo since the Feds wont be using handguns when rounding us up......

The thing I gleaned from this is that ATK is the parent company of Federal Ammunition... And they are the purveyors of the HST bullet. That's kind of a nasty little round...

Just another step the government has taken because they know the economic collapse is near. NDAA, FEMA camps, and on and on. Oh dear god, 90% of Americans aren't going to know what hit them.

This is an alert from an inside European banker. And something I have posted a thread on - a Greece default causing Europe to collapse then we do. Pay attention to March 20th as that is the first date Greek bonds come due. We all know they don't have the freaking money.

Steve,

I am someone who has worked for one of the largest investment banks in the world RBS and I can tell you that the contagion of debt has run its course. We are already prepped for a Greek default this month especially since the recent downgrade by Fitch.

I can tell you is this, watch the Eurozone carefully, even though Greece is the star, the UK and it's Financial power center "The City" is in a whole heap of trouble that is much worse than Greece or any of the PIIGS; France included. If Greece goes down this month, Legarde and Co are working laboriously but an uncooperative Greek public and a Situation beyond repair is not making it easy for the WB, IMF robber barons. When the default happens you have about two maybe three weeks to get out of the dollar. After that it will be impossible.

Regards,

V.

It is; however, Federal has been having some QA problems over the recent years. I use Speer Gold Dots for SD, Lawman practice ammo for my .45, and Double Tap for the 10mm.

There does seem to be a problem getting the spam cans of 7.62mm (640 rnd cans) as of late. Check cheaperthandirt or others, out of stock...

The writing is on the wall. Why do they need that much ammo?

My best guess is that they are gonna certify TSA as official law-dogs with arresting powers and firearm certification. And also increase their numbers.

Edit: As an aside I thought that most federal agencies used 9mm? Is there a deal in the works for a .40?

450m? That's a lot of ammo. As others have said, glad I don't shoot .40 S&W.

Federal Flight Deck Officers (Pilots) and Federal Air Marshals (both part of DHS) use that type of ammo...so I have heard.

Who uses .357 Sig? Thought that was the air marshals, but it may be the SS.
