Since the Democratic Party in Michigan was stripped of all of it's delegates, the democrats can save their wasted votes by voting for Ron Paul and sticking it to all the Pro-War Republican candidates.

This could shake the foundations early on in this primary season and if successful give a huge boost to Ron Paul + next week's money bomb/s.

What would be the best ways to get this message out to all the democrats in Michigan?

Is it too short of a time period to organise advertising via grassroots?

I'm sure many democrats would jump on board knowing their votes are worth nadda for any of the democrat candidates.

"Bring the troops home Now!" that not only sends a message to the Rs, it sends one to Ds as well

milk the D vote. i see it as our goldmine here.

but i don't live in Michigan

Don't they need to be registered as a Republican to vote in the primary??!

Campaign should immediately start running anti-war/civil liberty ads. We need good showing here to get our momentum to pick up again

Yep... and it's too late to switch. [Edit: I was wrong. It is an OPEN primary. Sorry for the misinformation.]

No, It's an OPEN Primary.
If only there were some kind of Media that could inform them.
Like, I don't know, TV maybe.

Due to violating party rules, the Democratic National Committee has stripped Michigan of all its delegates to the Democratic National Convention. You can vote in the Democrat’s primary, but no Michigan delegates will be sent to the DNC to vote for you.

As if that isn’t bad enough, most candidates running for the Democrat’s nomination didn’t even register to be on the ballot or have withdrawn their names. Here is a list of people who will be on the ballot: Hillary Clinton, Mike Gravel, and Dennis Kucinich. So if you wanted to vote for Barack Obama, John Edwards, or any other candidate you’re SOL because they won’t even be on the ballot.

Instead of casting a meaningless vote on the Democrat’s ticket, you can vote in the Republican primary, helping bring a “win-win” ballot for the 2008 Presidential election by voting for Ron Paul. The war in Iraq has consistently rated the highest issue important to voters. Another issue not polled which I’m sure matters to voters is the restoration of our civil liberties.

Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate who is against the Iraq war and for the restoration of our civil liberties. All of the Democrats oppose the war in Iraq, so by voting for Ron Paul in the Republican primary you can help create a “win-win” 2008 Presidential ballot. It will be an anti-war, pro civil liberties Democrat versus an anti-war, pro civil liberties Republican. No matter who wins the election, the war will end and our civil liberties will be restored.

We just need to get the 8 Million Democrats to this Forum to find out.

Or Maybe,

SOME TV ADs

Start posting on the website called MichiganLiberal and there is a Michigan subforum for DemocraticUnderground. Remember, the DNC stripped the Michigan Democrats of all candidates. The head of the Michigan Democrats is trying to persuade the Democrats to vote "uncommitted" on the ballot because he is a big union guy and wants to send a message to Hillary Clinton on behalf of John Edwards. However, there is no point for a Democrat in voting the Democratic Primary since 0 delegates are being awarded to Michigan. The best thing for Democrats to do is to throw the election to Ron Paul like the Democrats successfully threw the election to John McCain in the 2000 Michigan Primary to spite George Bush.

What are the major newspapers in Michigan?

If we don't have enough time to create and chip-in for a TV ad, maybe we can create some full page ad for the newspaper and everyone chip-in.

Where are all the creative grassroots people? :)

Full page ads and statewide TV spots saying anti-war Dems should vote for Ron Paul, since Obama and Edwards aren't even on the ballot....

Has the campaign picked up on this?!!? What the hell has/is HQ doing in Michigan? Have they been hitting this angle with ads and mailings??

This can be huge if they haven't dropped the ball on this

How possible would it be to set up an "Ad Bomb" on such short notice and get in in for Sunday/Monday?

Does a PAC need to be set up or can someone that already has a PAC get involved?

I am NOT a good writer so don't take the following as something that I would expect to publish.

"Open Letter to Michigan Democrat Voters,

You may or may not know that the DNC has stripped the Michigan Democratic Party of all of it's delegates for the primary this Tuesday, January 15, 2008. What that means is they have effectively stripped you of your vote for any democrat you may have supported.

BUT, YOU CAN STILL MAKE YOUR VOTE BE HEARD! YOUR VOTE CAN STILL BE COUNTED!

How would you like to stick it to the Pro-War Republicans and show everyone the power of Michigan voters?

VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul has been against the Iraq war from day one, unlike some Democratic Presidential Candidates."

(Creative Writer Needed) :p
