That whole thread makes me smile
...because it shows one of the many reasons why we're going to win, and provides an unintended insight into why the Democrats, specifically, and collectivists in general will ultimately fail.
One of the (many) complaints on that DU thread that was repeated several times was, "Where are all the Dem signs? What are the Dem sign people doing?"
The answer, of course, is that they're sitting on Democratic Underground and Crooks and Liars and all the other Democratic forums and complaining about how all they see is Ron Paul signs. They're so used to the idea of delegating their responsibilities to others that the thought of actually getting out and hand-making some signs of their own doesn't even occur to them.
Of course, this is indicative of their approach to government as well. We small-government libertarians and conservatives are "heartless" because we don't want to use tax dollars to help the poor. The concept of voluntary charity as a legitimate alternative to legalized theft in the name of the general welfare strikes them as unworkable. It's just easier to let the government do all the "charity" work for them.
So this is why we're going to win. We'll continue to put up signs, do voluntary direct-mail, door-to-door canvassing, and money bombs, just like we'll continue to donate to the charities of our choice, while the Democrats, socialists, and other collectivist has-beens will continue to sit in front of their computers or in their coffee shops and complain that their Dem-controlled Congress hasn't ended the war, that their Presidential candidates all suck and sound alike, and that no one from the DNC is doing the grunt work of campaigning for them. And when President Paul takes office, they'll roll their eyes, throw up their hands, and declare that the country is truly lost, even as their taxes drop, the dollar picks back up, the troops begin coming home, and, slowly but surely, their quality of life begins to improve.
Some will see the light. But only some. For the people who've invested too much emotion and too much time into a failed party, they'll never admit what we already know. We'll just have to take satisfaction at having saved their country, whether they like it or not.
