Howard Fineman: "In Kentucky terms, this would be a new style campaign. In other words Kentucky has been a state, one of the most traditional where you go courthouse to courthouse, county to county. You rely, if you're a Democrat on the Democratic party organization. By the way, the Democratic Party organization and I was at their big dinner this week down in Kentucky, they don't want Ashley Judd. They know politics a different way"

Can't say I blame them. Some of her quotes are sure to turn off lots of potential voters. Maybe they'd work in California, but not Kentucky.

This is why I hope she runs. It will be a beatdown and hopefully have an impact felt across the country. She would be a weapon any GOP candidate can use. Look at what the Dems want and where they want to take the country??

Yeah,I wanted her to run, also. But I guess the dems in Kentucky aren't that stupid.

I hate McConnell so much, I'd encourage the libs I know to donate to her.

Decapitating Satan sounds like a good plan to me.

And many Repubs don't want McConnell either. I just hope some better candidate gets in this race... or it will be a terrible choice like Obama v. Romney.

Please encourage every lib you know to donate to her!Tell them to max out their credit cards, take on a second mortgage, sell some jewelry, whatever it takes!

Tell them she's a perfect fit for the people of Kentucky!!!

They will want someone more to the right. Conway was a disaster for them last time and Judd is even more liberal than him.

You hate McConnell? There are much worse Senators than McConnell. Anyhow, Judd has no chance against him. If she goes up against Rand, there'll be another Randslide.

We need to pressure the Dem Party in Kentucky to change the ballot law so Rand can run for Senate and president.

Even if Rand is the GOP nominee I want him to be able to run for the Senate in 2016.

Rand is a once in a life time political figure. We won't see anyone like him for a long time. Risking the Senate seat for a run at the presidency is unacceptable. Kentucky has to change its law. The pressure could come from grassroots in the Democrat Party. There will be excitement at a Kentuckian running for president regardless of party and there is a good case to allow him to also run for the senate. Party leadership might not want to because they will have an eye on his seat if he's running for president so they must be pressured. I would suggest a petition drive. Our Kentucky members need to look into this.

I want McConnell gone, but Judd is too acidic.

What quotes are you thinking of?

I just searched and read a ton of them and didn't find one that was a turn off, or particularly political, except one on AIDS eradication.

I did find one that was a total turn on:

"No, I don't tolerate pressure from anyone about anything."

If that translates into "I don't deal with lobbyists", she's another Ron Paul!

I've looked for her political views before and the only thing I found is that she's in favor of humanitarian foreign aid. Anyone know, beyond that?

She's not your typical Hollyweird actress. She lives and has lived outside of California for her entire career and seems rather socially conservative/Christian.

Smart3 is a lefty, he wants Jennifer Granholm in Michigan. I'm sorry but I want Republicans to take the Senate more than anything and I don't care how they get there. McConnell has been a valuable ally to Rand (and Massie) so it would be foolish to kick him off the ship. There could many worse alternatives for minority leader: Lindsey Graham, McCain, etc.

lol! Thanks for the laugh.

"Abstinence, being faithful and correct and consistent condom use are the only ways to successfully reach everyone when discussing HIV prevention. I believe that the abstinence message alone does not solve the AIDS epidemic."

"You don't stay married for 35 years by accident. I think that that's willful and intentional and something that both people really want."

I don't see how that's Christian at all. Condoms are immoral and not 100% effective against the transmission of HIV. The only moral and responsible way of dealing with HIV/AIDS infection is through abstinence, otherwise you are exposing your partner to infection.

Didn't she and her husband just file for divorce?

Some more:

“Patriarchal religions, of which Christianity is one, gives us a God that is like a man, a God presented and discussed exclusively in male imagery, which legitimizes and seals male power. It is the intention to dominate, even if the intention to dominate is nowhere visible.”

“It’s unconscionable to breed, with the number of children who are starving to death in impoverished countries.”

Hardly a conservative or a Christian point of view. She even calls herself a staunch "pro-choice feminist."

Yeah, her and Dario are done. I'm a racing fan so at least I won't have to always see Judd at the races anymore lol.
