Delegate Money Bomb or ChipIn?

Ok, I may be out on a limb here but why don't we raise some money for the people that become delegates for our candidate?

It is my understanding that there is anywhere between 1500-3000 in expenses incurred for each delegate so if we raise some money for this cause, it might help people become delegates that would not have been able to afford it otherwise.

What does everyone think about this thought?

PErhaps we can soemwhat even re-imburse people for missign a day of work, and gas can be expensive too. If people know they will be taken care of, they are much more likely to volunteer to be a delegate.

I think this is a really good idea because I know that it will be pretty hard for a lot of us, myself included, to come up with so much cash to pull it off if we're chosen. I think I have pretty decent odds of being chosen based on my GOP involvement.

Yeah, I mean it may be a little too late for the early states but maybe we can get something going for all the super Tuesday states.

I mean I am still going to try to be a delegate in my state but if I don't get it, at least I could chip in to help someone who does make it..

Well, the costs don't come into play until September I believe, which gives those selected some time to save up, but it's still a large sum.

Great, I did not even think of that! I know very little about the actual process in that this would be the first time that I will have participated but I have gathered that there will be a fair amount of expense.

Any ideas how to go about this so that we are not paying for other candidates delegates and such? Any clue as to the legality of such an effort?

Well here in Arkansas, there is a filing fee of $125.00 per person when you turn in your application (Between Jan 21 and Feb 4 08) but to go to the big convention in September it cost a bunch in expenses from what I hear.

Again, someone line me up if I am mistaken on this stuff..

I will do what I can to check into the legality of this sort of thing and sorta plan how to go about it but initially I really like the idea. I will bump it by the day crew tomorrow and see if I can get some more input.
