December 16th NOT getting moved up.

Its a plain fact that the reason we are waiting until the 16th is that we want as much free press as we can get. The amount we'll get next month from the free press is gigantic. Donating sooner is absolutely not going to help. I donated a few bucks today to beat Huck but it sure won't take away from my planned 16th donation. It absolutely won't help to donate the money early. What will help is *hoarding* your money until Dec 16 and then letting loose. Apparently some people think they have something better in mind. Well, what is better than becoming an unquestionable top-tier candidate overnight by the media? Obviously nothing... look at George Bush as an example how bad of a candidate you can be yet still get in first because the media considers you a top-tier candidate. Dec 16th means a probable win for us, so I don't see why you'd do anything except hoard your money until that day.

PS - Its also too late to re-consider, just like Nov 5th. People waited an entire week before people started complaining. TeaParty07 has been planned for three weeks already. It has the momentum and it would be ridiculous to stop it.

I totally agree

stay the course!!!!

did you guys get the campaign email? They're in desperate need of money NOW. The tea part 07 date is too LATE for them. It's urgent.

Soccr, that's what this mess is all about. Someone suggested pushing up the date for the Tea Party donations because the campaign would get the money earlier.

$5.4 million in the bank at the end of the third quarter. Where'd that go if they only spent $3.1 million? This thing smells too fishy. It sounds crude, but I'm starting to like that "Ignore the e-mail" idea.

Please do NOT take away from you December 16th contribution! If you have some to give now then do so but please to not mess up the 16th. This will be the day that makes history! I think it was unwise for the campaign to undermine the 16th with the email they sent out. If they really needed money now they could easily get a line of credit with a bank. Remember how did we go from nowhere to 6% nationally and 8% in New Hampshire? November 5th.

We must raise enough on the 16th to beat Hillary's one day record!

It has nothing to do with the money itself and everything to do with the media attention, front page stories, talk radio, and new networks talking about it non-stop for 3 days. Along with the follow-up interview and the raw power individuals feel when you donate on that day knowing that you are personally destroying all conventional wisdom and preconceived notions of the MSM.

After getting everyone set for the TeaParty07 date it would be a HUGE mistake to try to reschedule it. If you can give now then do so. It isn't possible to budget around irregular infusions of money. The campaign would probably prefer (no specific knowledge) pretty consistently growing daily donations. It is probably scary to them to have a $5 million week followed by a $200k week.

What is urgent is that we win. How we win is by making $10 million on ONE day: December 16th. Period. The campaign can go suck a lemon. The 40 people working at the campaign office don't know more than the collective intelligence of the 7,000 at RonPaulForums.com

EDIT: Also, as for them being in desperate need for money, that is ridiculous. We just gave them $4 million not even three weeks ago.

They are getting some money today as for me I can't swing giving anymore until next month. You can't bleed a turnip either. The 16th works out great for me and many other people.

If you feel it's urgent, donate some now. But please for the love of all that is holy, don't pull out of the Tea Party because of this.

I have the solution! We keep the dec 16 tea party date and plan it to be one of the greatest events in US political history. But in the mean time since HQ needs the 12 million ASAP to buy needed media time we can do this: Over the next 2 weeks all we need is 20,000 people to donate $25 on 6 separate days over the 2 weeks. This amount will give us a total of $500,000 per day. Factor in the total over 6 days and you have $3million the approximate amount needed to reach $12million. Timing everything like this will leave HQ enough time to buy up air time in need early primary states and will leaves us enough time to set aside and recoup enough money to donate as much as we possibly can for the TEA PARTY on dec 16th. I think this could work. Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Real people aren't like the federal government that can just print money. A good amount of the people (like myself) aren't able to give more than at most 100 bucks a month. The donation pool isn't unlimited either. You can't make the assumption that everyone will make out at 2300 because that is completely incorrect and any calculations based off that is going to be incredibly flawed. People can't just print money for the campaign. It dosen't work like that.

Besides, end of the 3rd quarter, the campaign had a few million in the bank, we raised another 2.8 mil in october. That more than covers the costs of october. Also, over the internet on the 5th they got another 3-4 million in cash. Since the 5th they gotten another million and some over the internet in instant cash. Since the beginning of this quarter (not counting last quarter) they've gotten I would say atleast 7 to 8 million in instant cash over the internet. I don't see how they are calculating out these numbers, but somethings really screwed up. They should have atleast 4-5 million left for advertising.

Not to mention the nov 5th created way more publicity and poll increases than the campaign did.

Am I bitter? Mabye...
