Alright, so I used to run http://ondecember16th.com which now redirects to Trevor's site.

I refuse however to redirect my second site, http://ondecember15th.com which is visually similar to how I modelled my original 16th site. (They were supposed to be sister sites to make things simple.)

Instead, i want to coordinate with other 15th sites. The 15th is supposed to be for on the ground campaigning, NOT donating, but actual footwork is just as, if not more important than money. Because of the nature of the work, I firmly believe that using a single site will ALWAYS hurt the movement as a whole.

So I'm looking for ideas. What should we be trying to organize on the 15th as far as activities? I live in Portland, OR and I was thinking that free tea on the courthouse square would be a great idea. It would definitely get the news vans.

Ideas?

Just want to chip in and thank you for keeping your site independent, Jordan.

I think the most important amendment is likely the 10th: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

To emphasize this on Bill of Rights Day, we could encourage all supporters to meet at their state capitals in support of states' rights and individual freedom.

A 50 state march/meet-up would be pretty spectacular!

Alright, I'll be updating the website later tonight.

Right now we're looking at two main points:

- Since this is in reality at its core a campaign movement, we should be presenting a positive message on the 15th. It is VERY important that we use this rare opportunity to highlight what RP is FOR. Candidates are elected, and campaigns are run, on what they stand for, not against, and so for this reason, in order to be seen as a legitimate campaign, I'm trying to organize a mostly positive event nationally instead of an "anti-war" or "anti-tax" event.

Yes, those things are important, but we are not wearing our protestor hats right now, we are wearing our voter hats, and we need to make sure everyone who meets us can tell the difference. Very few people are willing to pick up their protester hat and stand with you, but most will pick up their voter hat if the occasion arises.

- The events nationally need to be coordinated in some cohesive manner. In this vein, I would GREATLY appreciate it if everyone could post my email, [email protected], in their meetup groups and ask the organizer to send me a shout. I'm not the idea man as far as what we do... I would like to leave that up to consensus. But as far as spreading around the consensus to all the people who will be out there on the street? I'll help with that through my website.

So far we have a "tea party" at the capitols of the 50 states, which is something I find rather tasteful and appropriate, assuming we can kee the message positive.

The website looks great. As others have said I think that having as many sites as possible promoting the stuff on 15 and donating on 16 only strengthens the movement.

If we (about 30,000+) all get 10 people to commit to 12-16 our day will be a huge success. www.teaparty07.com - get them (your name list) to sign your pledge sheet and sign up at the website. Follow up with your name list a few times to answer any questions about our platform.

This requires many signs, door to door, leaving a trail of slim jims, phone calls, bumper stickers, RP t-shirts, meetup group activities etc.

So let's each get to to commit to 12-16, this will take work, but it needs to be done. Get 100 if you can, but we can each get 10 people in 1 month to save our constitution, can't we?

I have a suggestion for the site. A site like yours that wishes to organize efforts around the country need to be dynamic. It needs some kind of content management system. Personally, I prefer joomla. It has lots of plug ins and it is fairly easy to administer once you get the feel of it.

I am using joomla at http://changeforronpaul.com/

You can easily add forums, mass mailing, countdown module, user blogs, etc.

Let me know if you need a hand.

Bad idea to put on a content management system on those sites..... it makes them way more vulnerable

Joomla is fairly secure nowadays. If you do backups regularly, there is nothing to fear.

I've had two sites hacked in the last 8 years. one was a joomla, about 4 years ago and one was a BB like this one. I had backups, and was only down for a bit. The joomla developers fixed the vulnerability that the hackers exploited on me last time. Haven't had a problem since. I forget what it was now.

Actually, I'll code it myself... but I agree. :)

Interactivity is on the way!

What about a food drive? There are several threads going on right now in the general grassroots area about food drives. I think that your site could really be a boon to a national food drive that would promote the tea party the next day.

Free tea is good, but also there needs to fun activity to engage people for a while. Competitions with prizes for Ron Paul promotion activities - eg best Sidewalk chalk art promo, best decorated car or antique vehicle, (use liquid chalk on windows, ribbons, banners, balloons etc) Have the cars park early in prominent spots and have people decorate them in the morning as a fun famly activity , prizegiving ceremony and parade of cars around neigbourhood in afternoon. The bonus to this is that people may overcome their shyness and keep the promos on the car windows all the holidays as moving billboards for Ron Paul.

Also music- we have a band stand in our square. 1776 theme music would be ideal!

AND BIG RON PAUL SIGNS UP FOR THE DAY all over the square. We NEED local visibility and photo opportunities for the media.
