Dec 16th- The $2 Million Day?

I really think we want to keep up momentum and try to bring in $2 Million this quarter. I think Rand needs more the $2 Million Total for the Primary.

We have a little less than 2.5 months to promote right now. I'm ready to get started. Somebody get Rand Paul's December 16th money bomb website up-and-running.

Absolutely, we need someone to get a TEA PARTY pledge site for Rand on the anniversary of the original Tea Party way back in 1773.

Who will do this for us?
 
we cant even do 1 mil in a day, so why 2?

Yeah, the goal on the December 16th website should be possibly obtainable: like getting Rand Paul to his two million goal.

Please no more goals that won't be reached that the media can spin. There were a lot of "fell short" type stories in regards to Paul's 430,000 day on August 20th.
 
Shouldn't we be concentrating on promoting the Nov 5th moneybomb now? It just makes sense to me...

Why forego nearly a full month of real promotion for a money bomb that is probably going to top that Braveheart-themed one for Schiff in terms of fail?

will you please stop being so negative? there are already over 300 pledges on http://www.thisnovember5th.com which isn't bad at all.

I agree Dec 16th we should try and raise as much for Rand as possible. Trevor will probably help but it's a bit early at the moment
 
Multi-bomb

I think the November 5 multi-bomb is a good idea.

The idea of a money bomb is to generate a newsworthy event. The recent string of money bombs has left our wallets perpetually bombed out, resulting in mediocre and increasingly non-newsworthy results. Clumping them together on a single day can change that.

If we raise over a million dollars on a single day for liberty candidates all across the country, that will be news. For example, Rand's press release and the resulting news articles could say that Rand raised over $200K in a single day as part of a "mass money bomb event" that raised over a million dollars for liberty candidates across the country.

That certainly sounds better than another press release saying that Rand raised another $200K on a single day, period. Yawn. Been there, done better.

Wouldn't it be great to have major news articles saying that the Ron Paul supporters are running liberty candidates all across the country? (The media's going to have to figure out what to call us. I'm personally rooting for the term "liberty candidates", as it (correctly) implies that everybody else is anti-liberty.)

Another advantage is focused promotion. By having 10 campaign teams all promoting the same event, you dramatically increase the signal-to-noise ratio. Ten times as many people promoting the event, amid 10 times fewer emails promoting other things.

Also, everyone gets to use November 5, an important anniversary for r3VOLutionaries, and the anniversary of Ron Paul's first major money bomb success.

Plus, there is potential for synergy. I'm envisioning a single website that shows the number of donations and dollars for the day for each of the 10 candidates, plus overall total number of donations and dollars. Doesn't that sound inspiring? Maybe the candidate who's ahead in total dollars gets to be at the top of the list, further inspiring that candidate's supporters to give big early.

There are some people who will drop $10 or maybe $25 on every candidate just because they're on the list. (I will probably do that.) As a result some candidates are going to get donations from people who would otherwise be ignoring their campaigns. I'm guessing most candidates will get a higher-than-usual number of donations of a lower-than-usual amount. Fortunately, that's a good for press releases, as it shows more widespread support among "ordinary" people. (Sorry, not meaning to imply that any of us are ordinary!)

If Nov 5 is successful and generates news articles, maybe we'll have a bigger multi-bomb on Dec 16. Then maybe we'll have a mini-push for Rand on Dec 25 to get him over the $2 million mark. Then maybe another on Dec 31 to get him over $1 million for the 4th quarter. Who knows?

For now, we need to strongly push the Nov 5 event!

Honestly I think a unified ticker for the day is an absolute must and I'll be disappointed if that doesn't happen. Imagine a sidebar ranking candidates for the day with progress bars under each and a progress bar spanning the top of the page showing total donations for the day. I know that would take a good deal of coordination between the campaigns to arrive at some standard that would allow for the donations to be read from each campaign, but it ought to be doable. We need to assemble a team of web developers who can make an excellent website if we're going to pull this off. With respect to Trevor for all his hard work, a simple pledge-and-wait doesn't look serious enough to catch the massive amount of people this could appeal to.

I think we can tap at least 5 million in a single day if we promote the hell out of it and build a top notch website that really unifies all of the campaigns for the day. December 16th would be the perfect day for a massive Liberty bomb. There are so many ways we can promote it on the 16th of December, and there's plenty of time to make it happen. If we try to focus on a single candidate for the 16th we're going to cheat the movement out of a lot of donations. It will be a little more complex than what we did for Ron, but it can absolutely be done.
 
Is November 5th too soon for a multibomb? I would think that we'd have plenty of time to plan for the Dec 16th one

There is a small but fatal flaw in your reasoning: that is not going to happen.

The top candidate on November 5th will probably be somewhere around $25,000 and the lowest around a thousand or two. I frankly don't know where you come up with Rand Paul raising "over $200K" on November 5th....which is more than he raised on September 23rd ($186,000) with constant promotion soley focused on him.

This is mostly why I like the date. If this bombs, we have nearly two months before the end of the fourth quarter on December 31st to recover from it. If it was December 16th and it flopped, well then, we'd have only two weeks left. It's not wise to put all eggs in one experimental basket.

November 5th: Multi-candidate money bomb
December 1st: Peter Schiff
December 16th: Rand Paul
