Debra Medina - Senator in 2012?

But its not just like Kentucky. It is Texas. Winning a primary costs 4 times as much here as Kentucky. One thing we learned from Rand and Schiff, we can raise 3 million for a primary but not 12 million.

Sincerely,

Slutter McGee

Uh...what? In 5 years, she ran in the Special Election against a Democrat and once in the General Election in 1994. She also raised money after that. This is from those 5 years: http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/summary.php?cycle=1998&type=I&cid=N00005675&newMem=N She raised $10 million and only spent $6 million. If we double that number for today's times for a Republican Primary (I am being VERY, VERY generous with that estimation), she would need the $12 million you stated.

In reality, she will probably only need $3 to $5 million for the Primary and by the General, she'll be fine. If we want to go with the 2010 model of one big candidate and a bunch of little ones, Medina should be our big candidate.

3 to 5 million for an open statewide Republican Texas Primary for Senate? Thats not happening. It will be far more. You are posting numbers for 94 through 98 for goodness sakes. I will go get some numbers of my own. Winning is even more difficult with the tea-party vote being split.
