He is a regular contributor to Business Insider and endorsed Ron for civil liberties. He's flawless on civil liberties as far as I can see, but may or may not match up perfectly on all issues-- I haven't fully checked him out, and he has progressive attributes. He's REALLY good on the internet and civil liberties, though. I've posted some of his videos on NDAA before, and he has a podcast: http://t.co/vxQ6L3Is

He's an activist.

Here is his twitter account: https://twitter.com/d_seaman

I think he may be running as a Democrat.

He is definitely worth our time, he's someone who not only really gets it but has taken immense personal risk to expose information about NDAA. If you've heard of TrapWire you likely have Seaman to thank for it.

I for one will definitely do something to support his effort, and it would be nice if everyone here gave him a fair evaluation as well.

It's nothing personal about him. I would just rather focus time and energy on winnable races. Robyn Hamlin and John Dennis were great liberty candidates, but they were in impossible districts. Same goes here.

That said, I will evaluate it with an open mind when the time comes.

He needs an image makeover, old people in Florida aren't going to vote for this -

The district is currently represented by Democrat Alcee Hastings. After redistricting, Debbie Wasserman Schultz will represent the district in 2013.

How is he going to beat the leader of the Democratic Party? It is cool that he is going to do an education campaign, though. I've done that before. Hopefully he gets on the radio and in the paper. Good for him.

Do you really think it wise to cast stones about appearances?
As someone who has had extensive training in campaign imaging, I can tell you that he might win the college vote, but they typically don't come out to vote. In Florida, where there is an even higher concentration of seniors, the "chic pseudo-intellectual" look doesn't cut it with the majority of voters. In most of America the average voting age is in the 60's, in Florida it's even higher.

Ok, if he's not running to get elected, but he's running to do an education campaign, that's an entirely different ballgame.

For those keeping track at home, this is the professionally massaged image he'd be running against.

Wants to punish those who ship jobs overseas it appears. He needs to learn economics before he has my donation.

David Seaman for Congress Florida's 23rd District

Floridians, or anyone who is passionate about preserving personal freedoms and Constitutional rights, you should should look up David Seaman. He's running for congress in Florida's 23rd district in 2014 against Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and is exactly the kind of person we need more of in our government.

Seaman is running on a platform of internet freedom, enforcement of Constitutional rights, and is staunchly opposed to laws like NDAA which infringe upon our rights. He's intelligent, motivated, and is completely free of bullshit; something which is all too rare in politics these days.

If you live in Florida, or just want to help by checking out David Seaman's campaign and spreading the word, please visit his campaign website, Facebook page, or just Google his name.Every vote counts, and even just spreading the word is greatly beneficial. Getting people like David Seaman into office is the first step we need to take to start fixing a lot of the problems in our government today. Anything you can do to help is truly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Gherder, glad to have you here. There was a thread started just yesterday about supporting his candidacy, so I am going to merge your post with that thread to keep the discussion together in one place. He does look like a very interesting candidate.

What if he runs as a Dem?
