David Krikorian, independent for Congress, receives ’surprise endorsement’ from Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police
September 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments

David Krikorian, a promising independent running to represent Ohio’s 2nd district in Congress, won the endorsement of his local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police. A spokesperson for the group said, “[Krikorian] impressed the committee members in his interview.”

The district’s Republican incumbent won the union’s endorsement in 2006, but controversy and ambiguity over the death penalty kept her from receiving it this year. Apparently, Republican Schmidt was for the death penalty before she was against it.

The FOP is one of the more influential unions in the area and its endorsement is a powerful signal that Krikorian is a viable candidate in his race.

David Krikorian is a dream compared to what we normally get in Cincinnati. Foreign policy is not as ideal as Paul's but if he wins he will be working to end American Imperialism.
I have met him. He will certainly give us political gain. He is a great chance to get someone with near 75% of Paul's views in there. Him being a moderate helps although the purists don't like it.

I definitely have some issues with his family values section and with his foreign policy. But there is a clear choice...there is nothing wrong wit picking the lesser good.

He may not be perfect, but sending an independent with a shot and favorable to our views is worth it. Imagine the shockwaves!

He's anti-Fed and anti-UN... while I think he's wrong about "finishing the job," I'd take that over anti-war, indifferent-Fed, and indifferent-UN any day

Yes, exactly. This demanding of perfection is going to get us nowhere.

That, and "finishing the job" doesn't really mean much anyway. If you actually read the war objectives in the Iraq War Resolution, we have no legal reason to remain over there.

I caught Krikorian on a televised Congress debate tonight. I had heard he was a "Ron Paul"itician, and his answers tonight were on the mark. He spoke about the value of the dollar, the evil of the Federal Reserve, and ending the war in Iraq.

Video of the debate is supposed to be posted here later:

He may not be 100% exactly like Ron Paul, but against the incumbent Republican and the Democrat who is running, I'd take him any day!
