Today, January 10, 2013, David Earl Williams III, a 29 year old former member of the US Navy, and a big supporter of former Texas congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul, has announced that he will officially run for U.S. Congress in Illinois’s 9th congressional district for the Republican Party’s nomination. The seat is currently held by incumbent Democrat Jan Schakowsky, who has served in Congress since 1999. After mulling the decision for several months, he has decided to now throw his hat in the ring early at the strong urging of his current campaign manager, Krzysztof Lesiak. David believes that getting into the race this early will help him build name recognition, raise the necessary funds any viable political campaign needs, and unite the entire GOP voting base, including conservative, independents, and libertarians around his candidacy.
David was born on January 8, 1984, in Evanston Illinois. He grew up, however, in Chicago’s North Side neighborhood in Uptown, where he lived with his mother and two sisters, Stacey and Shantel, and one brother, Alex. He graduated from Nicholas Senn High School in the Edgewater community of Chicago in 2002. Immediately after graduating, David joined the U.S. Navy as a deck seaman for the first two years, then a logistics specialist for his remaining time. He was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan from 2002-2006 and has traveled all over the Asian and Australian continent along with the Middle East. David served with valor until his honorable discharge in 2008.
David graduated from Central Texas College in 2005, taking online classes in Sociology. In 2006 he was given an honorable discharge from the U.S Navy as the next four years he would study aboard graduating from Lethbridge College in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, after taking courses in General Studies and Criminal Justices. David wrote a 270 page fictional fantasy novel, Valor Tale, which was published in April 2007. David moved back to Evanston in 2010 and began participating in a nationwide group with a chapter in Chicago called We Are Change protesting Corporatism and the on going Unconstitutional wars overseas. In 2011, he became involved in the Blue Republican Movement, which was a grassroots effort spearheaded by Ron Paul supporters, encouraging left-leaning independents and Democrats to register Republican to vote for Ron Paul in states that had closed primaries or caucuses, in which only registered Republicans could vote. That same year, David, began working for Urban Outfitters, a clothing outlet, and also began working as a male model for Pink Avenue Models, located on West Jackson Boulevard, in Chicago.
It was in 2011 that David also became a faithful and active participant in the so-called “Ron Paul Revolution”, which was instrumental in spreading the message of liberty to the American people and which, of course, promoted Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential bid. David says he was inspired to become a Ron Paul supporter by Congressman Ron Paul’s passion to educate the American people about the U.S. Constitution, sound currency, limited government, and a foreign policy of non-aggression. David was an active member in the Chicago Ron Paul 2012 Meetup group which held weekly Ron Paul rallies on Sundays in Chicago’s famous Water Tower Park. David promoted Dr. Paul at these events, passed out literature for the Texas Congressman, and talked with people passing by about the message that Ron Paul had to offer, a message that David believed Americans had been yearning for but had no one to articulate their views before Ron Paul emerged on the national scene. Dave also went to the rally for Ron Paul at the University of Illinois in Champaign on March 14, 2012 and saw Ron Paul deliver a rousing speech to over 5,000 students and young people.
In 2012, David enrolled in American Military University taking online courses towards pursuing a degree in Political Science. He also became a volunteer for Convoy for Hope in May, which assists victims of natural disasters. David also began work as a promoter in 24 Seven, a business involved in fashion, retail, advertising, marketing, and design. David has also begun a career as a logistics specialist for the John Hancock Observatory Center in late October.
David lists his heroes as Dr. Ron Paul, former New Mexico Governor and 2012 Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson, Iraqi War veteran and a leader of Veterans for Ron Paul Adam Kokesh, 2012 Republican Maryland congressional candidate and Air Force veteran Eric Delano Knowles, 2010 Republican Georgia congressional candidate Kelly Nguyen, US Congressman from Michigan and Ron Paul protege Justin Amash, Ronald Reagan, George Washington, John F. Kennedy, Sejong the Great of Joseon, American economist, social theorist, political philosopher, and author Thomas Sowell, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Bob Marley.
David is running for Congress because he is sick of seeing this country in such bad shape, and in the spirit of Ron Paul, aims to serve the American people in Congress, fight for the U.S. Constitution, and represent the people interests, not political party bosses or multinational globalist corporations.
David says further:
“I am running for Congress to represent the American people, its Constitution and bring sanity back to this country.”
David will be releasing an official campaign website within the next few days. Also, the campaign will set up an official Twitter and Youtube page. The facebook is already up:
