FFS dude, seriously, pessimist, you NEED to read this:
http://manhood101.com/p101.pdf
I do cringe at times when the authors use political analogies, but it is a spot-on assessment of our feminist-culture and what should be done to correct it. And, you'll like it, the authors do a great job of bashing pick up artists, but not for the reasons you might think.
I haven't read something so revolutionary since I picked up Ron Paul's
Revolution: A Manifesto. I mean, there's absolutely no shortage of books out there supporting the feminist paradigm, but very few that so boldly refute it.
Honest to God.
That pdf is nonsense. In fact, it's so bad, I thought it was satire when I first read it. Don't even waste your time, Pessimist, unless you want a good laugh at quotes such as:
The very thought of acknowledging the superior strength and intelligence of males is demonized while female capacity is exaggerated.
Since humans have a need for order, limitations, restrictions and rules must be created to safeguard people from disorder. This is why our society designs laws to restrict harmful behavior.
Many people even demonize limitation as harmful to society. But regardless of what our current dysfunctional culture preaches, people need to know which way to go, what to say and how to behave... It seems counterintuitive to think that removing options by adding limitations will create more freedom. But people only feel truly free when order is achieved.
While women and children often lack the capacity to grasp the inner workings of authority, they still have an instinctual, positive response to it. Authority brings poorly arranged things, people, events and circumstances into a state of order. Hence, people are attracted to those who have the ability to create order. Having authority means you have jurisdiction over someone or something. You have the right to control and determine a course of action or a final outcome.
Consider the punk rocker lifestyle. It is the antithesis of order. In fact, its philosophy encourages the dismantling of social order. Only dysfunctional people are drawn to such a chaotic, aimless life. Their houses, cars, personal appearance and relationships display a disorderly, limitless view of life. If you were to stop taking care of your house and your appearance, both would spontaneously start resembling this lifestyle. It’s not so much a lifestyle choice as it is an act of personal neglect. Apathy and dissatisfaction fuel such disorderly living.
Women fail to realize that both authority and submission come with a price. Either women must give up their autonomy or learn to bear the burden of responsibility inherent to leadership. Either women must obey the men governing their relationships or start creating their own civilization by the sweat of their own brows.
For example, the government is responsible for making its citizens happy. It has the requisite authority to control our behavior. This is necessary to create order. Just as a parent controls the behavior of a child with rules, the government controls the behavior of its citizens with laws designed to safeguard everyone’s welfare.
(There's so much more of this nonsense that I have to stop in order to keep my post from being extremely bloated.)
It's like an authoritarian/sociopath bible for MRA, red pill popping misogynists. Some frustrated dudes found a way to market misogyny because of a growing number of men who are frustrated about the pillars of patriarchy taking blows over the past decades.
There are legitimate things men can fight for in a strive for more equality such as altering divorce laws. What's funny is these laws were created during a time where women were confined to being housewives and men had all the power/capital, so it made more sense that the woman would be more suited to taking care of the children as men wouldn't want to give up their career to stay at home. It was a result of social gender norms dictating the roles of people. Even funnier is you don't need a movement outside of feminism to address this issue. Increasingly, you'll see more women who don't want to sacrifice their careers just as men didn't in the past. You'd have to see men/fathers lobby against these laws for a change to happen.
Interestingly, another issue that affects men related to the previous paragraph, alimony laws, are also addressed by feminism in that more and more women being breadwinners would even out the field. Men are only more adversely affected right now because they're still primarily the breadwinners.
Masculine stereotypes and bullying are also issues that face men, which leads to pressure, insecurities, lack of social tact, depression and even suicide. Guess what else addresses gender roles/equality?
Notice a trend? A lot of the issues men face are a result of their stranglehold either being loosened or backfiring. The problem with the MRM is they want to argue it from a point of view where "the evil wimminz" are trying to pervert society and they MUST MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO AND HOLD ON TO TRADITION AT ALL COSTS. Of course, it's beneficial to men because they've held all the power over society until women spoke up and started fighting for equality. The correct way to tackle these issues is actually through feminism if the goal is equality rather than maintaining an authoritative stance that suggests men are rulers and women subservient. Basically, the MRM is the dying odor of male dominance in our society.
I'd be fine with an "MRM" that's a subset of feminism, which fights for the issues which actually exist and harm both men and women, but as it is now, it's mostly disgruntled or bitter guys feeling like women owe them their vagina simply for being men and lamenting the gradual loss of male dominance over society.
