^This. Teen marriage has been replaced by teen pregnancy. And now women are freezing their eggs so they can "wait until their ready" to have kids. So eventually we'll have 60 year olds picking up their firstborn toddlers from daycare. Divorce is super high because women don't need men like they used to so they don't put up with as much as the used to. I represented a man who's wife divorced him because he snapped at her for nagging him about drinking. She drank just as much but she didn't want either of them drinking when her daughter was around for the weekend. There are new realities that cause new challenges and society by and large is clueless as to why.

Good insight. Perhaps the PUAs are a symptom of the arressted development of society in general? By that I mean the insistence that teens/20s/30s delay adulthood and live in a state of adolescence whereas in the past, there wasn't this strange period of years 12-20 where one wasn't quite an adult but not a kid and didn't have to - for lack of a better term - grow up. My grandparents were married at 19 and 16 and started a family, worked real jobs, etc. nowadays, we're appalled at 16 year olds getting pregnant and tell 19 year olds that they've got at least 4 more years to party at college before they have to enter the real world. Everybody in this age group is told by society that they can live it up without consequences and sow their wild oats for years. So instead of growing up, you get a bunch of adult adolescents that can't understand why they're so miserable, and then go our to the bars and clubs looking to fill a void they're not acutely aware is present.

I do like the "teen pregnancy has replaced teen marriage" observation. That's something that could be expanded upon. There is the biology aspect that is undeniable that when teens get flooded with hormones, they're going to start having sex.

I think that at a community level ostracization for certain extremely immoral but nonetheless non-violent behaviors could be justified, but I'm not sure exactly which. I'm not nearly as big on social ostracization as someone like Kevin Craig would be, but I'm not entirely against its use.

Ostracizing is merely the extreme of what a society can do to punish someone nonviolently. There's a whole spectrum of shaming that exists shy of that.

I think that one of the results of having the government play the role of the decider of what's right and wrong via laws for everything is that the importance of social mores wanes. But if you took away this gigantic central manager that pulls together all the localities of the USA and all the cultures that comprise it and tries to make one unified people out of them, then what would exist in its absence would be many small locally-focused communities, where honor and shame would play bigger roles, and social mores would take the place of government laws. Ostracizing would be part, but not all, of that.

I have no idea if you went to college or not, and if so, when, but this modern idea was being pushed on people in colleges a couple decades ago and probably still is.

Anyway, the average person does not run around behaving like PUAs or relies on their advice. Most people just go with the organic flow of life where sex and relationships happen naturally.

Gays get married. That's insane. But I'd guess that you see nothing even questionable about that. If a man mutilates himself, takes hormones, and fills out paperwork, does he woman? Some people think that's possible. But it's insane.

So, a lot of truth, that Dannno and others seem to understand is shouted down basically by the same people who support gay marriage and sex change operations. You ever hear "all sex is rape"? Same people.

There is "what is true" - and Dannno has explained the evolutionary basis for it, which sounds like sociobiology.

There is "what some people want you to think is true" - they don't argue very well. They would just like you to believe, when is suits their argument - that men and women are the same, there are no innate difference. Unless it suits a different argument that women are in specific ways superior. They're the ones who came up with "gender is socially determined" which on its face is just wrong. There is a big, big suite of beliefs there.

Yes, I've seen my fair share of these relationships. Guy treats the girl like shit, but she never leaves. Or he's a tool or jerk or whatever, but the girl puts up with it. This seems to be the exception, not the norm, at least with the couples I've seen.

I'm not gonna say I'm trying to change you. Obviously, you seem to be happy with where you are now. But your views are obviously influenced by female role-models. Mine were (and still are, which causes some internal conflict), and the more I think of it, the more I am able to recognize how detrimental it was in progressing from boyhood to manhood that I had no visible male role models in my life.

EDIT: I suppose Im' fortunate that I wasn't among the 75% of incarcerated males who were raised by single mothers.

I currently live in a small town. The people I observe are average people. They pay their taxes, go to work to support their families, believe in God, and probably have pets at home.

I'm fairly certain most married couples, most average human beings do not behave in the manner or are attracted to the tactics employed by the scumbag this topic was centered around.

It bothers me, because I just don't see it. I am comprehending it fine. I just don't SEE IT. I don't see how walking up to random women in the street and acting aggressive and vulgar is a turn on for them. Are you telling me that stuff in the PUA videos works on 25% of women?
