Nothing fits the Libertarian stereotype more than having a pony tail. I do not know much about this guy but with that alone he fits the establishment medias choice as the LP nominee. No doubt they have video of him smoking weed so whenever the LP is brought up in the media they just show him with his pony tail smoking weed.

Add to that video closeups of ugly peoples mouths smoking weed in repeat rotation to provide the viewer all they need to know about the LP.
