Daily Kos tells Dems to vote for Santorum in ND, VT, other states

comments need help. specifically, in regards to defining Ron Paul's stance on foreign policy - strong defense, etc.

Moulitsas argues that the longer the primary drags on, the better it's getting for Democrats — noting that Rick Santorum will inevitably follow the path of Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich and see his poll numbers fall.

More like they want Santorum as the nominee since he would get annihilated by Obama.

Ron Paul has a much better chance of extending the race in Vermont and likely ND, but definitely vermont.... what are they thinking?

Well, they're not even thinking about Paul, probably. They are targeting "open" primaries/caucuses--4 Super Tuesday states for now.

I just highlighted ND and VT since those are states Paul might have a chance in.

Ron could do well in any open primary or caucus, but it is true that Dems in the northern and western states seem to like him better than Dems in the deep south.

Of course. They want someone that will be sure to lose to Obammy. The last person they want is Paul because he could erode the anti-war civil liberties type Dems.

This means that they feel Santorum is much easier to beat than Romney in the general and they're right.

This should be spread, especially around conservative forums.

Yeah, compare Kos who unabashedly runs his site 'to elect Democrats' with the Blue Republicans who are voting for Ron DESPITE party, because of civil liberties, NDAA, Patriot Act, war and other principled reasons.

I'm all for it. Even if it helps Santorum, at least some of those Dems might accidentally get educated, and vote for Paul. It pushes Romney down, which is the only real threat for a non-brokered convention.

Well, in the caucus states anyway, they might listen to the speeches and become Paul supporters! ;)

for Obama it makes sense.

just as the attack on the Catholic Church was a tactical move to help Santorum. Obama must be one hell of a chess player.

Wont work in Vt. Our peeps are already teaming with the rational side of the Vt OWS groups. Rally this weekend.

Daily Kos is really anti-Paul to it's core. I read it every now and then and while they will bitch about wars and NDAA they don't even pretend to brake ranks for a second. The few brave people that dare question the status quo are shot down or banned pretty quickly. This doesn't surprise me.

I agree when they rarely think about Ron Paul at all they view him as an extreme threat. If you run a search for Paul on the site you see that he often garners a huge if visceral response.

This operation could only have a marginal effect if close. I highly doubt there will be a significant amount of Dems voting as the Daily Kos suggests.

Didn't Rush pull this stuff with the Democrat primary back in 2008 telling Republicans to vote for Clinton in an attempt to extend the race in hopes Clinton and Barack beat each other up?

Yes, that's why they are now trying to return the favor.

Schultz was p laying all sorts of embarrassing Santorum snippets today, and saying this is the guy they want facing Obama.
