Interesting take by the Daily Beast on the relationship and balancing act between Rand and Cruz.

Thanks for posting and breaking the link but would appreciate if you pasted the entire article here so I don't have to give daily beast another click they don't deserve.

There is the core of an excellent argument here, but the article is so poorly structured, repetitive and badly written that I question how this person gets published.

Agreed, both with the intent of the article and your critique of the way it was written.

Wow, spot on and horribly written. This though basically sums up the most important point.
It’s less that Paul is moving to the center. It’s more that he is deciding where the center will be

Shit article. With all due respect, Ron Paul was also playing chess in 07-08 and 11-12 while his opponents were playing checkers.

Totally disagree. Ron wasn't playing checkers or chess. He wasn't playing anything at all. He was entirely above the game.

"I don't hate players, I don't love the game. I'm the shot clock, way above the game. To be point blank with you motherf&c% the game"

If Ted Cruz plays checkers and Rand Paul plays chess, then Ron Paul must play Go ...

LOL, they are talking about politics. You know as well as I do that Ron hated the politics. He refused to play the game, he had no interest in it.

This had to be sarcasm right?

Rand trounced two solid opponents first in the primary
and then in the general election in 2010 when he ran for
the seat JIM BUNNING retired from. Kentucky has a colorful
history of nittygritty politics where dignity is a secondary
thought. what Rand does plays well to his supporters!!!

Doctor Ron Paul is the heir to Senator Barry Goldwater's conservative legacy.
Rand is actually a work in progress in a good way, he's having quite an impact.

I hope none of you read the comments in the article, talk about misinformation.

Question for fellow chess players: Is Rand playing a King's Gambit Declined? A Sicilian Dragon? Perhaps a Budapest Gambit?

Why do I think Cruz is playing tic-tac-toe?
