I agree - we should do background checks on all potential supporters and refuse to allow any "undesirables" to vote for Ron Paul in the primaries or the 2008 general election. We don't need them, and they could hurt the campaign with their presence.

I agree,but some people wish to call the "big tent" a "circus big top" as way to discourage, insult or diminish the diversity of people who support Ron Paul.

So.. on a serious note (and I can't believe I'm asking this,) would it be a bad idea to specifically target recreational marijuana users?

My brother's going to a concert in a couple weeks by a relatively well-known band with a dedicated following, where more or less all of the fans are potheads. The band is politically active, especially where hemp/medical marijuana is concerned.

Anyways.. we are considering designing a flyer that emphasizes RP's stance on drugs, along with mentions of his record/position on the war and taxes. And my bro is going to have face time with all the bands on the tour, so I figured we'd make sure the bands learn about RP as well, since a few are sure to support him.


But when I was discussing the idea with a local RP supporter, they seemed a bit disgusted. "Do you really won't THOSE people supporting OUR candidate?" was the exact response.

I figured any support is a good thing. Afterall, any pothead that votes is going to be supporting SOMEONE, right? Why not make it RP?
