Culling the Herd: A strategy suggestion to further our cause

Sorry, I don't support the idea of exclusion in any grassroots efforts to support Ron Paul. The campaign needs a "big tent" approach to remain viable.

I agree, but some people wish to call the "big tent" a "circus big top" as way to discourage, insult or diminish the diversity of people who support Ron Paul.

So.. on a serious note (and I can't believe I'm asking this,) would it be a bad idea to specifically target recreational marijuana users?

My brother's going to a concert in a couple weeks by a relatively well-known band with a dedicated following, where more or less all of the fans are potheads. The band is politically active, especially where hemp/medical marijuana is concerned.

Anyways.. we are considering designing a flyer that emphasizes RP's stance on drugs, along with mentions of his record/position on the war and taxes. And my bro is going to have face time with all the bands on the tour, so I figured we'd make sure the bands learn about RP as well, since a few are sure to support him.

But when I was discussing the idea with a local RP supporter, they seemed a bit disgusted. "Do you really won't THOSE people supporting OUR candidate?" was the exact response.

I figured any support is a good thing. Afterall, any pothead that votes is going to be supporting SOMEONE, right? Why not make it RP?

Thanks for your support, I have added Agnostics to the list.

I wish I noticed this list earlier. Nice list! :D

How about adding Scientologists?

May as well add "Radical Libertarians" too. But that would put me, and maybe even Ron Paul out of supporting the Ron Paul campaign, wouldn't it?

I also didn't see ....

Conspiracy Nuts

Militia

Also, who is supposed to be the "decider" to make the important decision on whom we don't want to be "associated with or it will hurt Ron Paul's campaign"?

Damn, there's just too many people with too many different beliefs!

But there is always the "Final Solution" to "fix" this problem. ;)
