Why Ted Cruz is in trouble in Texas

Both Trump and Rubio are squeezing Cruz in the Lone Star State, cutting into his lead by blanketing the airwaves and working side by side
to engineer an upset.

Trump continues to hit Cruz with claims the senator is a "liar," and Rubio wants to show he can win establishment and anti-Trump votes, which means taking from Cruz.

"This is make or break for Cruz. He has to win -- no close second is good enough," said Bill Miller, an unaligned, senior Republican lobbyist here.
"Unquestionably he's favored -- and it has been in the bag -- but the bag has a weak bottom."

It's not very smart for Rubio to be on the air in Texas. He should be ceding that state to Cruz to prevent those delegates from going to Trump.

He should really be concentrating on shoring up Florida and preventing those delegates from going to Trump, too. If Kasich can do that same in Ohio, then they may have a shot of making sure Trump doesn't have enough by the convention.

Really, I think this is the only strategy that can work now. At least then, he'll have a shot during the convention. Otherwise, Trump's got it.

(I really think we end up with Hillary no matter which way this goes now, so this is pretty much moot. It's like watching that last game of the NFL season between two teams that can't make the playoffs. Maybe they should concentrate on draft picks for next year.)

Basically all these other candidates need to win their homestates to be viable; Cruz in Texas, Rubio in Florida, Kasich in Oho

if those guys cant win those places why would they win anywhere?

Rubio said winning states was not important. He will repeat that a hundred times after Tuesday.

There are things that could come into play and sink it for Hillary.

Indicted
Terrist attack
Europe decent into chaos
Financial collapse
Turkey and Russia, Iran and Saudi Arabia declare war on each other.

Except RNC rules say you need to win the majority of delegates in 8 states now in 2016 as opposed to a plurality in 4 to placed on the ballot for nomination plus I believe way more delegated are bound to the winners of their primaries now. They really shot themselves in the foot trying to curb Ron Paul!!

Except that the rules can be changed at the convention itself, just as they were in 2012.

"Rules? We don't need no stinkin' rules!"

I don't really cuss much on RPF but I've found myself doing a little more often this election cycle.

That being said.

Good! Fuck that little bitch.
