Cruz gaining on Trump in California

This is devastating for Trump, he will likely need most of the CA delegates to get a majority going in to the RNC. I thought latino voters loved him

Cant wait to see the whining of the trump supporters when tiny trump loses on the second ballot at the convention

No surprise when you have a united media including Neocon talk radio and the GOP establishment campaigning against him. Then combine that with what looks like Trump sabotaging his own campaign.

Looks like the sex scandal smear campaign backfired or fizzled out. . . .

Doesn't it say polling done March 16 - 23 (?) - with results of Trump ahead by 7% in statewide polling over Cruz - MoE 2.8%

Trump might be ahead by even more after these next two months to find Heidi Suzanne Nelson Cruz divorce filings from 2011 or 2012, imo.

NVM . . . just saw the date of OP post - that was a good one!

Remember this when Trump cries about getting the nomination "stolen" from him.

...
The Cruz campaign has been organizing in California for a year. They have thousands of volunteers statewide. And an estimated 65 percent of primary participants are expected to vote early by mail — a process that begins in three weeks. “We’re going to talk to all of these people personally,” Schroeder said. “We can pour calls into those empty districts.”

Also helping Cruz is the fact that the campaigns have to pick their own delegates — 169 of them, plus 169 alternates. The process of identifying six committed Cruz supporters in every single congressional district — including districts where Republicans haven’t really campaigned in decades — wasn’t easy. It took Schroeder five months. But now he’s finished — and the Trump campaign, which just hired a state political director today, is only getting started.

“It’s been a huge project for me,” Schroeder said. “And they have to file all of those names with the secretary of state on May 7? That’s less than a month from now. If you don’t have those names by May 7, even if you win that district, you don’t get any delegates.”

"today", means April 12

So did Trump think he would have had this wrapped up by now or does he really not care if he wins?

Trump has the least money of any of the leading candidates by far. He has the full weight of the establishment against him. His political success in the wake of those two factors is unprecedented in modern American history.

LOL at the full weight of the "establishment" against him. Trump gets billions of dollars worth of media coverage, he can do 30 minute phone interviews wherever and whenever he wants, networks break for live coverage of his rallies, and even Sean Hannity hosts Trump-a-thons where his entire show is him throwing softballs to Trump.

Trump knows how to work the media in order to get free time.

At this stage, I'm calling 50/50 split for Cruz/Trump. The fivethrityeight folks are not as trumptimistic was they were a month ago and now give Cruz 65% chance of winning outright.
