How does Cruz do in SC after the New Hampshire rejection with Rubio, Cruz and Bush "bunched up" behind Ohio Governor John Kasich. (NYTimes)
. . . and then the big three (over 50 delegates) states on Super Tuesday March 1
Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee ?

I would think 2nd. My assumption is most of the dropping candidates support would go to him, not Trump. So it could be a very close second.

Cruz needs at least 2nd in SC to be viable or else it's going to be Trump vs whatever establishment candidate that finishes 2nd in SC

the ¡Jeb! campaign is putting their chips down in SC, Bush and Graham are going to campaign for him. I think he'll be 3rd or 2nd ahead of Rubio and Kasich. He has the cash and connections, Jeb will be back as they always planned.

whoa . . . Matthews and Morning Joe go at it here till the end - lol

Matthews looks pissed with arms crossed "(Cruz) operates below the level of human life"
". . . am I allowed to have an opinion here?"
"I don't know, is Cruz a theocrat, maybe he is."

"so what, he has a family experience with addiction"

From the orangeman DJT:

We are getting reports from many voters that the Cruz people are back to doing very sleazy and dishonest "pushpolls" on me. We are watching!

Ted Cruz denied all knowledge of robocalls being made in South Carolina on Thursday after Donald Trump accused the Texas senator's "people" of "doing very sleazy and dishonest 'pushpolls' on me."

"I have no idea. We had nothing to do with them. I don't know what they were. We had nothing to do with them. So I had read reports of what is being said but somebody else is doing them, not us," Cruz told reporters before a rally with Glenn Beck in Fort Mill.
Story Continued Below

Brian Phillips, the Cruz team's rapid-response director, tweeted an hour after Trump's initial accusatory tweet, "The push polls are not coming from Cruz. Period."

They could be telling the truth, but not disclosing the big picture.

Rafael buddy, you have to do a better job of hiding this stuff...

Barrett said she found the call — which continued to say negative things about Rubio before taking shots at Donald Trump for being a supporter of eminent domain — to be “negative” and “unfair,” but she couldn’t figure out right away who it was from. The voice said the poll was conducted by some place called Remington Research.

She told her Rubio-supporting friend about the call; her friend told the campaign. They said they knew exactly what Remington Research was: a consulting firm started by Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe.

“These tactics are becoming all too common in this race and indicative of our opponents’ campaigns that are willing to say or do anything to win an election,” Rich Beeson, Rubio’s deputy campaign manager, said. “This is nothing more than a deliberate effort to peddle false information in the hopes of deceiving voters.”

South Carolina Outlook.

FIX: Finish this sentence: “The most important region of the state in the presidential primary on Feb. 20 is _______________.” Now, explain.

Shain: Where you can find your voters.

I could talk about Charleston, since the coastal city represents a little bit of everything in the state has to offer from evangelicals to libertarians.

Consider that Cruz, the super religious candidate, is raising more money from Charleston than anywhere else -- even the Greenville-Spartanburg area that's home to the state's evangelical base.

In a twist, Rubio is drawing strong financial support from more socially conservative Upstate.

This suggests how candidates are targeting their voters no matter where they are located.

That said, Trump is bursting all the conventional wisdom in the state. The candidate who never asked for forgiveness from God leads with evangelicals. The guy who wants halt Muslims from entering the country is the favorite among Republican moderates.

Maybe the better answer to this question is, "Wherever Trump is."

This is why I now think Cruz would actually have a small chance against Hillary. Because he's willing to play just as dirty.

Cruz should be the best candidate to beat Trump through most of the South (except Rubio in Florida of course).

The entire fate of the GOPe is in Cruz's hands. He is only one who can possibly stop Trump in SC and even that is slim.
